Seems it's time for the old grump to tell a story! Funny, but when I was a kid, we knew absolutely nothing about "marshmallow". Not even a bit. Because the USSR, and nothing from the capitalists were allowed. And then, after 1991, a lot of new information literally flooded our brains. We didn't have opportunity to buy new products, because our currency was falling without stopping, at some point 1,000,000 in one banknote was a common thing even for scholar, but in movies, that was mostly not allowed before, we start to learn all that new goodness such as food, toys, comics, video games etc. And our movie translators always translated "marshmallow" as "zefir/zephyr" (many translators, dictionaries and even Google Translate even now says it is the same), a common thing in our country, and to be honest it is more or less the same at first look. Distant at taste, but you can find many similarities. But it has another consistency (it is little wet) and of course can't be fried. But we did not know this, and every time we saw in a new movie how children fry marshmallows by the fire, we wondered what was going on there???
Nowadays you can found marshmallows in stores, but marketologists still don't know how properly name that product, sometimes it is "zefir", sometimes it is "zefir for frying", and rarely it is "marshmallow".

That's really nice! What kinds of marshmallows your family makes? Those kinds like rocky mountains aka white blocks of marshmallows or those twisty flavored ones? Now all we need is a fireplace :ROFLMAO:
We were making all kinds of marshmallows: classic white, classic pink, mixed bag white & pink, twisted white-pink, large white ones covered with chocolate and sprinkled with coconut and specials like white chocolate & raspberry, white chocolate & macadamia, white chocolate & rice bubbles, white chocolate & Turkish delight (large blocks)… (Specials were delivered to local restaurants only).

Believe it or not I never tried putting a marshmallow over fire. My parents were always busy and I was constantly alone playing video games since I remember (late 90s).

We stopped making marshmallows in 2016. My dad passed away from liver problems due to excessive drinking, my mum got sick with multiple sclerosis and my uncle divorced and latter got killed in a motorbike accident. I completed my university degree and failed to carry on our business.

I really liked to your story -v-. Thanks for sharing.

I’m sad to see you all argue so much since yesterday. Cheer up, life is short. :)

I dunno how to react to your post as it is all good memories but at the same time very sad to hear what you have gone through.

Starting first with those marshmallows. Man I have never seen or even heard of marshmallows listed here by you "sprinkled with coconut and specials like white chocolate & raspberry, white chocolate & macadamia, white chocolate & rice bubbles, white chocolate & Turkish delight". I am pretty sure those would really put such delight on those who had them when your family were still producing them! I am already thinking of digging through my supermarket for even the basic ones :ROFLMAO:

I read somewhere years ago that the practice of putting marshmallows over fire was due to someone finding their marshmallows tasting awful like plastic that they decided to cook it and it turns out it changes the texture into gooey and much better tasting therefore the tradition has continued to this day. Thus judging from you not needing to put your marshmallows over fire it means you have some really good marshmallows ;)

I am so sorry to be hearing of your predicament. But seeing that you are able to relate your story and from how you name your account I can bet that you are already much stronger now have a contented life as what it is now and it that is true I am glad for you in knowing this :)

Yes life is too short! Enjoy some and play more games 🙃

I do know of some here who just wants the game to fill their steam library and also those who really wants a game for playing. Those who wishes to play said game will join for certain draws while the former will join every chance he gets. Maybe some even taking the won games and trade or sell it off. I ran a little experiment by doing a small sponsor for GOG games and watch its giveaway live while I kept the codes with me to know the activation status. Of the keys I gave half remain unredeemed.

With that I can also make a presumption that some might join the wheels just for the sake of joining and not actually wanting to play the game. Or maybe even to trade or sell the wins. So with that I think it is not very nice to do extra chances to try make it always a plain ground for contest.
oo sneaky! :ROFLMAO: (y) ;)

I'm one of those who only joins if it's a game I'll want and will play ;)
Thx for running these giveaways. Can't imagine how stressing it is to keep track of everything tho!

Thank you so much for your kind words co2no. :)

Yes some of them are really tasty but look more like cakes than marshmallows. My favourite are “raspberry white chocolate marshmallows”. See the picture below (I hope it works):

My Marshmallows.jpeg

It would be waste to put them over fire. ;)

Don’t worry about me I’m fine. I left everything behind and moved to Japan with my girlfriend who I met on a holiday in Greece in 2018. Life goes on and after while we only tend to remember good things anyway. :)

I have some nice new games to play next weekend thanks to our very kind Queen Vinka. Thank you. ♥️

EDIT: Now I have to get some sleep asap, it's almost 3 am Monday here.

I don't want to make accounts for sketchy sites and all that, but that game looks nice. So if anyone gets a key and don't want it, I'm more than willing to do a trade ;)
I thought the same thing, actually.

Can I just say Marky Marshmallow those marshmellows are HUGE! Coconut coated marshmellows are a favourite in Australia. It's also tradition that the first burn of the season involves roasting marshmellows!

("Burning off season" is the time after winter, but before the summer heat, where we are allowed to burn off/light fires on our properties. It's done as a precaution to hopefully avoid a huge bush fire over summer.)

It's almost 7pm here and I'm already getting hungry again thanks to that picture of marshmallows. I really need to get around to trying marshmallows like those sometime soon.

Also yes I am new here, hello everyone.

sry did you said i cheted ? if im reading right you are being rude to me it was a giveaway not a trade and i posted Alpha Key in the description. Many people post beta and alpha giveawasys if the Indie Gala let us why is bad? First you post a :( in the other post now im a cheater. Men never expected that thing from you . If i im im a honest and Trusty person , i dont go and try to deceive people. It wasnt want he espected the giveaways have a link to seteam page not even that he did to see that was a alpha key. If you call me a cheater you are worse than him. Im very sad of you guys you caling me cheater and the guys who gave you a thumbs up in your post.

Okay, I am not trying to get involved into this, despite me being ignorant of the topic and not joining Indiegala giveaways, I believe it would be unfair too, to give away beta, alpha, (maybe curator?) games. I'm pretty sure you do giveaways to earn points, or other benefits right? If so, that could be considered "cheating" to be violating the rules of giveaways. Beta keys came from developers that could generate thousands, and it would be unfair to those giving away games they purchased on or spent times earning (like ones from the challenge). I do not know if you did this intentionally or accidentally, but the negative feedback you received I believe would be only fair to you and him.

My advice is just learn from your mistakes, and don't do this again. If you have created multiple giveaways, I would just delete them (as you could in Steamgifts, I am not sure on here.) Everyone makes mistakes, even I did a couple weeks ago and was charged by the police. Literally, I am an adult, and I still do stupid shit. Do not think that this will be the end and ignore chatting with us. I am sure all the others understand and despite if they criticized you or not, we all welcome you here! Just make sure to not do this again. :)
