If anyone has a good suggestion for an auto-typer to use on the HitSquadGodFather's Youtube channel. I am all ears! 👂👂
I've been using Keypass. It's a password manager but has the ability to auto-type. You can tell it what window to type in, what to type and can insert delays. The main annoyance is that it has to switch focus to the window it types in, so you'll be interrupted every 5 minutes. I use a separate virtual desktop for the Youtube stream, so it's out of mind most of the time.

I'm sure there's a more elegant way, but this is the best I got. I don't trust any of the other shady auto-typers I found on Google. Keypass is actually a reputable program.

The points earn rate is very low. If you earn 20 points per 5 minutes, and e.g. Aven Colony costs 90000 points, this means you need to watch *and currently also chat* continuously for over 15 days, 24 hours a day to earn that. And this for a game that currently costs only 0.71eur in keyshops. So that means your "wage" for watching is less than 5 euro cents per day.
honestly I also looked at that too.. not worth the time. I actually liked the twitch point system.. somewhat fair compared to this

Thanks! Great idea to use a virtual desktop for the stream! (y)
I've one running most of the time anyway. So this is one more use for it. I am using VirtualBox.

Reminder that in 1 hour is the giveaway of Dead by Daylight: SteelSeries Games
Guess who slept in? :ROFLMAO: (Remember that was 1am for me tho).

I also opened that page when it was first mentioned, but forgot about it when I disconnected the internet at bedtime, however I have had this for just over an hour (I think):

Hang tight

(spinning gif removed - it was huge!)
You're in the waiting room because too many people are visiting our site right now. Keep this page open and we'll give you access as soon as we can.

If you refresh, you will lose your spot.

So no, I cant refresh like some of you suggested, according to the page. (Changed the text colour to separate my words and theirs lol - I'll also remove that huge gif once this giveaway is over ;) ).

Edit: All keys claimed for this giveaway!

======================================================

Did you all know they have free screen recording software? This was one of the links from the page I followed while waiting in the waiting room and tbh it looks pretty interesting. Anyone using/used it?

Some new games in IndieGala Beta Client, like "WTC: Recruitment Day" & "Out of Puberty: Chapter 1" & "Welcome To... Chichester OVN 3: The Mysterious Affair at The Violet Hotel". (y) Some maybe NSFW.
edit: Freebies can be sorted on date. This makes it easier to check them. That is if you already claimed all you can claim in the past. 🌴
I have a question about the client. Is it the same as Steam's in that you can claim a game but not nec download it straight away? It's not mentioned in the IG client FAQ. It only mentions that once you've claimed a game you can install or queue it for download, not download later.

In practice it feels like pure luck whether you get admitted before everything is claimed - you can be there in the "waiting room" 20 minutes in advance and still everything is claimed when you finally get there. Yes, they say that there is a queue and that you will "lose your spot", but is that actually how it works?

Yeah, I get that'd be how it works, but someone did mention you should refresh the page which is why I mentioned it ;)

after the first dbd drop i kept the page open, refreshing from time to time to see i there was any change on the page (no change).
at last, i refreshed the page probably one or 2 seconds before the exact time of the 2nd drop and got a key...i'm sure it's pure random; that the orange room is just here to prevent a crash of the server and there's no cue

Yes, you can claim games in the client and they'll be in your library to download later, just like using the website.

I don't know if this has been mentioned here, but Itch is doing another mega game bundle for a humanitarian cause, this time to help Ukraine.

Bundle for Ukraine

Bundle for Ukraine by Necrosoft Games and 732 others

For a minimum donation of $10, you get: 600+ digital games, 300+ tabletop RPGs plus various comics, digital assets, and more.

You're encourage to donate more than the minimum if you can afford it. All the money goes to help Ukraine through these 2 charities:
  • International Medical Corps provides medical assistance in the region.
  • Voices of Children, a Ukrainian organization that helps children cope with the horrors of war, PTSD, readjusting to school, and getting back to being kids.
You can browse the bundle using this site:
Bundle Browser - Explore Itch.io's Palestinian Aid and Racial Justice and Equality Bundles

A small sample of what's included: Baba is You, Celeste, A Short Hike, Crosscode, Wandersong, Superhot, and much more.
This is kind of a retweet of your msg because I just checked this bundle out and OMG, what a deal!
I think we should all buy it, no matter whose side you're on.

No surprise, no Sadako for me. ;_;
MasterHiTechAssassin, thanks for the tip that they actually started before the stated time. I'll try to remember that for next time.

but the games have updates
Sometimes developers properly keep their DRM-free builds (be it on Itch, GOG, Humble, or wherever) up-to-date with their Steam builds.
Sometimes they don't.

can save progress in other machines?
If you mean cloud saves, then no. (Well, I'm not 100% certain that the Itch client doesn't provide that functionality for some games, but I've never seen it mentioned.)
If you mean the ability to manually copy your save data from one machine to another without any restrictions, then yes.

One thing to note is that Itch STILL lacks proper support for DLC (aside from stand-alone DLC, like soundtracks and artbooks).
Therefore, I'd recommend getting Cross Code and Kingdom Two Crowns from GOG over Itch.
But I'd also recommend getting this Ukraine bundle, for everything else it contains, and for the cause.
