Another thing to mention about Itch, to clarify for anyone unfamiliar with the site:
Some (far from all, but still quite a few) games on Itch provide Steam keys in addition to (or in a few cases, instead of) DRM-free downloads when you buy them normally. (In these cases, the game's webpage will state "Your purchase comes with a Steam key.")
It's just when those games either are given away for free, or are included in one of these charity mega-bundles, that the Steam keys are omitted.

Furthermore, last I checked, developers get a larger percentage of the cut from Itch than they do from Steam. Therefore, if you want to help support the devs, it's good to buy your Steam-key-included games from Itch instead of Steam, even if you only plan to use the Steam version of the game. Furthermore, Itch periodically has a "Creator Day", during which Itch forgoes their own portion of the cut entirely, to give to the developers/publishers instead.

So yes, the games have updates. Would be scandalous if they would not after you paying for them

I don't know if anyone's tried making a similar listing for Itch games. Rates of update neglect may possibly be lower on Itch than on GOG, due to the relative ease of pushing updates, and due to less client integration to deal with. On the other hand, they may possibly be higher, due to Itch (presumably) having much less market share.

I've been waiting for years for Aeternum to update on Itch.
Witch Thief has also not been kept up-to-date.
That's all I can recall off the top of my head, but I know I've seen other examples of itchy neglect, too.

Itch.io doesn't require a fee to publish a game. This also helps.
It is advised to download though every file juuust in case.. It's beyond rare for a dev to be so shitty but shit happens

Please tell what streamers you are following.
About the abuse: LuckyStrike1305 says people using autotypers could be seen as abusing the system.
But the Godfather just said in the chat that he accepts it. Because he does not like the 5 minute chat rule himself!
(Could be that Youtube sees it as abuse anyway, I don't know about that.)

I didnt even realise, until I followed your link, that there's a new Humble game launcher/app. I read the page, then went looking to see if I got the same email. Nope. BUT I got one that has this line in it: members can download the new Humble app to play the Humble Games Collection & 50+ DRM-free favorites from our Vault.

That link talked EA-Origin games from Humble, but when you search your Humble libraray (from the web anyway) Origin/EA isnt listed in the platforms, so how do I know which games might be EA? I linked my Origin account just in case (since apparently Humble will try to move any games you didnt move yourself, to Steam).
