I am trying to gift a game from my alt Steam account to my main and I keep getting " unexpected error has occured " , even tho account is unlimited . Any ideas ? I already contacted steam about this .

yep, do u have the full value in the steam wallet? or u r trying to send a gift and using two ways of payment?

example, if a game is 15 dollars and u have 14- 14,50- 13 or any value, and you try to gift using another payment way to complete the missing part ( 50 cents) etc it will give you an error, and if u buy it for ur alt it will work.

to make it work you need the complete value of the game, or more than the value the game needs, then it will work properly.

( i was trying to buy a game, i don't remember which one now some time ago, i even said here at lair, later i tried buying some low price rpg to make a test, all that were lower or the same value as my steam wallet worked, but those that were higher no)

Several causes for gifting blocks:
1. Gifting account must be from equal or higher currency pricing. Can't gift cheap to expensive.
2. Account must not have any restrictions, IE, must be in good standing.
Not sure: Alt cannot use first purchase (new account) to activate and send gift at the same time.
3. I don't think this is documented anywhere, but the gifting account needs to have spent equal to or more than the gift it's sending. I don't know the details or when this went into effect, but try searching steam forums to find confirmation.
4. If you're gifting wallet, turkey and argentina are perma-blocked, end of story. They can't receive digital gift cards other than from their respective countries. This went into effect roughly 2 years ago for ARS and last winter sale for TR.

Family sharing as you said above will work. I don't think address matters. What if you had brothers in the same home, different accounts. Same address. It's not unthinkable. It's just for "collectors," profile numbers, badges, cards etc you lose.

What does "5 euros from idling cards" mean? Sales on community market do not count to the amount spent on an account.
If you activated your account with that gift card, but never made any personal purchases to that account's library, it may be blocking that gift from being sent as a "security measure." If you are talking to support, see if they can override it, and will tell you to try the purchase again.

I also forgot that there is a cooldown, maybe 3 days? after adding someone before you can send any gifts. This was a scammer / fraud security measure that people using stolen or chargeback cards will run out of time for.

I don't think name matters. You can always remove payment method you aren't using, and change names. I don't use my real name, never have, on steam.

It feels kinda weird asking for games from someone I've never met, on a forum I don't frequent, but... if the gifter is fine with it, it certainly would be nice to obtain DARKSBURG. Or, second choice would be BASINGSTOKE.

But it's still not entirely clear to me how this works. Is there still any need for us to create a GameFAQs account, or are you willing and able to serve as intermediary for everything? (I'm a little reluctant to create yet another account that I'm unlikely to use again any time soon.)
