I tried VPN but also can't seem to get the key to activate

I followed a youtube tutorial -
- shut down steam app (very important)
- close windows/tabs where you have steam opened
- go to task manager and shut down any process related to steam
- turn on the VPN (I have Nord VPN, paid version), choose the region
- open steam in new tab (not the app) and activate it

This worked for me, the game was Warsaw

I activated in USA region, Los Angeles to be specefic

p.s. I forgot one detail, and it might be important - the region settings on my PC (Win10 Home) is set to United States (to find it, type region in search bar). And, I turned off the setting for apps to be able to see my location (type location in search bar).

AWA gave one month of X-box game pass at some point. I couldn't activate it in my country and VPN didn't help because my region was set to Peru, when I changed it to USA I was able to activate the game pass without any problem. (I played the Outer Worlds for free

)

Earlier today, I messaged DigitechX on GameFAQs about getting a game from his giveaway. I sent him a list of my top 3 choices, expecting to receive one of them. Much to my surprise, he sent me all 3!! I decided to keep 2 of the games and hold a raffle for the third one here.
