I like a good story in my games so I voted Role Playing games (Witcher, Mass Effect, Dragon Age) and action adventure is my second choice. But I also enjoy games like Diablo, Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, Torchlight and Children of Morta a lot. I don't know what category they belong to. Occasionally I like shooters too (I want to get the Bioshock collection when it goes on a sale next time). Games like XCOM and Shadowrun can be fun as well. I got 20+hours logged on XCOM2 during two free to play weekends :ROFLMAO:.

I also like so called walking simulators when I just want to relax (Firewatch was one of my favorite ws games so far). :)

I chose Platform, Fighting and RPG. I grew up with Spyro, Tekken, Final Fantasy and Soul Blade/Calibur and they're still my favourite games, except for Final Fantasy because now I feel them too childish or because I've got enough about the series (or maybe I'm old 🧙‍♂️ Honestly there's no explanation, really). I don't chose FPS because my favourite serie ever, MAss Effect, it's a RPG :alien: Or a mix of RPG and TPS. ARPG? Dunno 🤷‍♀️
Now I'm exploring the Horror/Survival genre with Resident Evil, but I know it's a small part of a big genres so maybe in the future will be one of my favourite genres, if I'll survive (=no heart attack).
I know, in my gaming life I played not so much, and what I played is "mainstream" 🙈
AH! Last but not least, I add Hidden Object genre (or subgenre) in my favourite genres. They're like a drug 😵

My Favourite is Quest genre, its not actually adventure or action adventure genre. I am amazed its not on the list. Among the best are sierra quests, Lucas arts etc. To mention titles for those who interested - Space quest(esp 4 and 5), Grim fandango, Full throttle, TLJ, Dreamfall. Then goes action/adv like Little Big Adventure, Max Payne, or maybe it should be named 3rd person shooter. 3rd would be TBS like HoMM.
ps: voted for adv and tbs

Voted stealth and FPS, but I also love Open-world and sandbox games, usually with cars or guns. The exploration and freedom really makes the game memorable. And mowing down thousands of innocent citizens.

You probably mean RPG, quests are an integral part of most modern-day RPGs, although older ones didn't have them.

Yes, these days. But Rpg`s are generally non-linear, while quests are. For me these are still 2 different genres.
