yes that was the key
That was also my key a long time ago...

My friend gave that key to Buhroobee with my permission and he apparently activated it and said that he liked the game a lot. That was in April/May this year.

A few days ago when I was checking my old keys I found out that the key was still unused and it activated on my account. Today I saw that key here. 🤔 Wth?

It's very sad to see that people are lying about activations and using gifted keys for their benefit. :( I'm sorry about that RETRO.

Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication between your friend and you, @coolninjakid

I never told your friend I activated it, simply that I liked Tumblestone because I enjoy puzzle games. I could have been clearer when I responded to your friend, so I'm sorry if I confused or upset them.

However, as for you, who stated "It's very sad to see people lying about activations." I feel the need to correct so that in the future you're a little more informed before you make false statements like this.

This was what happened:
I was going to activate the Steam key back when I got it, but when I looked at my excel list of games, I realized I already had Tumblestone on Amazon's game launcher (From way back in June 2017). So, I played it a bit on there, liked it, and my conversation with your friend continued on to other things.
Earlier in my conversation with your friend, I asked for permission if it was ok for me to trade some of the keys they gave me, which they confirmed that I could do whatever I wanted with the keys. I'm picky about activating keys for games I already have on other launchers, or for games I know I won't play, since I feel like that's a waste, so I saved the key to eventually give to someone else but forgot about it in my excel list until just recently when I gave it to @henry-hunry , as I'm trying to clear out my list of codes and find them homes.

Some other keys your friend shared with me did end up going to Retro with no issue.

The reason this specific key didn't work for Retro is because you went back and personally activated a key you had given away.

Maybe, but this time you got caught in your lie. nod.gif

So you are giving keys from other people to RETRO for your own benefit. Good job Buhroobee. (y)

Excuses, excuses... :ROFLMAO:

Not really. ;) I got picture of your "thank you" for Tumblestone somewhere. I'll post it here when I find it. 😊

Have a good one bro. 😘

Yes, again, with permission (that I sought out beforehand) to give keys to Retro for his giveaways:

Better yet, I'll share it myself.
You can see that I told your friend I liked Tumblestone. As I said, this is where I was not clear enough with your friend.
I'm not in the game of hiding things, as right below I was upfront about two other keys being used to trade, as again, I had permission to do so.

You may think you have me in some kind of "Gotcha" moment, but I have nothing to hide. I've explained the situation above.

If that's not good enough for you then I hope you are able to step away from your computer, go outside, take a deep breath, and touch some grass.

What permission??? :ROFLMAO: This is hilarious, that first conversation dates back to Nov of 2022, 2 months before my account was created and you covered the name of the game you talked about. Smart move Buhroobee. Let me guess, was it Crash Time III? 🤔 Yes I searched this thread for 2 hours to find it. ;)

You are taking keys from other people for more than 2 years and giving them to RETRO for your own benefit. That is just wrong, sorry. :(

Gotta say this parts shitty.

This sounds like drama we just don't need.

When I said to speak freely in the lair, I didn't mean to go hunt down problems.

This key got tossed around for how long now?

Its too much of a mess to even figure out...

You obviously both know who this user is and keep blocking their name, why doesn't someone go get them to clear this up.

Else I find all the half blocked posts to be pointless evidence.

I’m just like you Nitrous. I'll get to the bottom of this tomorrow even if its the last thing I ever do. He is just making stuff up to confuse us. Give me some time, they are not here at the moment. Retro deserve the truth.
We are not alike.

I don't go hunting for shit, I just see it long before I step in it

I'm not on a crusade against evil, I just don't like watching my friends get fucked, the weak get abused, or people getting targeted because of what they can't help.

Okay, that did kind of sound like a crusade against evil...I got principles and I don't like scumbags who do shit just because they can...but I don't go around doing research.

I do the opposite actually and try not to even pay attention, but I naturally pick up on shit without trying lol...and sometime you gotta do what you gotta do.

If someone deserves getting hacked or robbed, I'll be the first in line to help...the difference is that these people became my friends and I watched each and every one of them before the fact the same way I would watch a new user now.

Please don't involve me in you looking for someones singular bad action. One bad move does not make somebody my issue. Its constant behavior to everyone around them that makes someone a problem...I gotta say your off to a pretty good start of earning that label in the like day you've been truly active since last time

No, you won't...I just noticed who the friend was.

Didn't do the best job covering it over...stop, both of you.

@henry-hunry I suggest we put a stop to this before it becomes another troll situation.

I don't know all the details, but I do know that this wasn't just random, we're talking about someone remembering a key from ages ago and someone happening to give that same key ages later, let alone the fact he knew which key.

I'd suggest you ban them both. Immediately.

I know I'm not too happy about giving my keys to them personally, one for trading them, the other for being a snake and a snitch looking for problems.

The key trading I could forgive...but not on a forum where its the worst thing you could do because of how it works....as for our ninja, I gave the kid a chance and this is what he did with it.

We don't need this here. Its a give and take forum, not a steal and snake forum.

The choice is obviously yours, but I'm not going to ask you to do it in private because thats putting the bullshit on your shoulders.

Yes, it was Crash Time 3, do you want a cookie? I crossed it out because the game doesn't matter - what mattered was the context where I was given the green light to use a key as I see fit. A green light I ask of everyone I interact with.

I'm upfront in how I use the sub-5% of keys that I do not activate myself:
When I've used keys to create giveaways and increase my level, I've checked with the user ahead of time.
When I've traded for specific keys so that I could then gift them to other users with them on their wishlists, I've told the user ahead of time.
And when I've traded with users for keys that I've then gone and traded/flipped, I've made sure the user was aware.

I'm not hoarding keys - I've turned down keys from users in PMs on many occasions.
I'm not going back and activating keys I gift to people (like you).
And, lastly, I'm not concerned in the least about how some "fourteen-year-old" is throwing a tantrum.

I'd suggest you ban them both. Immediately.

I am disappointed with how quick @whatnitrus and @henry-hunry were to jump to a decision based on the manipulations of a troll. One bad apple doesn't ruin a bunch, and I've explained this situation from my end. But if that isn't good enough for them and they allow a one-off clerical mistake on my end to sully their image of me, then I can't help that.
I've been here since Feb 2022 and this is the first sniff of drama I've been in, as I've always followed the rules and been respectful. I understand trust is hard to gain amidst the anonymity of the internet, and easy to lose, but I would have thought I'd have a bit more goodwill built up with the veteran members here, though. If it's final, I'll still look forward to seeing the two of them in the Lair.

As for you, Ninja, I want to point out that you admittedly spent TWO hours on New Years Eve scouring a forum for a message about a game so that you could continue to troll. I hope in the next year you're able to find something/someone that brings you a healthy joy that you can spend holidays like New Years Eve with instead of sitting in front of your computer trying to win an online argument with a stranger.

I jumped to a decision based on the fact that the key was given to you and you did say you activated it in your response--period.

There was no asking to give that key to someone unless I happened to miss this part somewhere...and it ended up here. If you can show that you actually asked permission or mentioned you already owned the game, even at a later date (although I'd ask you do it in PM for obvious reasons) there might be something to discuss.

It wasn't personal and I'm aware of the overly odd circumstances that brought it into the light, which is why I asked that both of you were banned...but the rules of this forum and the general concept of it go against what you did.

The fact that they knew which key and were able to actually produce it tells me something isn't right, but it doesn't change that simple fact 🤷‍♂️

As I said, I'm not going to drag this across forums on a personal level...but considering how this forum works and the rule about self activation unless otherwise mentioned (like the asset flips) makes that move a big no go my friend.

It slides once and everyone starts thinking that their status as a member makes them an exception...and its a downward slope.

If I were to do that myself, I would expect the same result and thats why he acted on my words alone...because he knows I would have did the same thing to any user--including either me or him if the circumstances were different and it was my choice to make at the time.

Obviously nobody is banning retro from the arena  but you understand what i'm getting at by saying it that way.

I guess isn't easy to decide who deserves ban or not but I think not everybody here is a saint. In past they've been users who used to take a key here and used for selfish reasons but at least they were honest enough to admit it and ask the permission to do it.
For Buhroobee I have to say he is rather old user here I don't remind he did anything wrong before and he looks a polite person, so probally he was unlucky that this matter went to the light. We are talking about a key worth half dollars or so, so he isn't a matter of having profit. Maybe I'd give him a second chance and maybe next time he activate keys on his account if he really wants a game.

Again...I agree with your sentiment about buhroobee, but I don't agree with your sentiment about being unlucky it "came to light" ...it shouldn't be done, by any user...here or elsewhere to be honest, but we choose for ourselves in other places--the value is irrelevant, and so are my personal feelings about him as a user.

Same as I have no actual right to enforce things here, I don't believe we have the right to ignore the fact either, this forum and these keys belong to every user involved here, its not fair that we just overlook something that could affect everyone.

I don't know what to say, because I want to agree with you on a personal level, but I feel its something that should never be overlooked in this forum.

EDIT:

You know I'm your friend ken, but if this was you we were talking about, I still would have asked retro to do the same exact thing.

This forum belongs to everyone here...its not a personal giveaway.
