Giveaways error

I have a number of completed giveaways with no winner listed, following the site outage a few days ago. I notice that guaranteed keys have the tick and that I got the credits for them.

Have the non-guaranteed keys actually been won by people or are they available to be put into a giveaway again?

no one knows. this is definitely a change from before the outage a few days ago, and no one is speaking up to say they've won anything. until then, you almost have to assume that a single user won every. single. giveaway. which could only be done through hacking. since IG hasn't commented on the nature of ANY of the slowdowns or outright dropouts over the past few weeks, anything is possible.

I have tried creating a new giveaway using one of the keys that had no entry winner (I have another spare key for that game anyway, so if there was an issue where a winner needed a key, but it had already been used by someone else, I could let them have the unused one. However, the website won't let me create a giveaway for using that key. This suggest the website may have a system in place where it checks if a Steam key has been used in a giveaway before and prevents it being used multiple times.

This could mean that the keys we put into giveaways are lost, at least for the purposes of Indiegala giveaways, as they cannot be reentered again. This is a bit of a shame as I was pushing on to my next Indiegala level and lost quite a few XP points.

why do you think you lost the XP? even if the winner is undefined or there's something shady going on, you should automatically get the positive feedback within 3 days of the GA completion.

Or.....are you saying it's been more than that and you haven't received the positive feedback? that would be another good datapoint for anyone attempting to create giveaways right now.

When creating a giveaway, write instead of a key a link to download, your contacts or a modified key (but it is clear as changed)

One of the giveaways was a guaranteed one - I purchased a bundle from Indiegala yesterday to check this and did one as a 24 hour giveaway. The giveaway has finished, no winner listed and the 'tick' has appeared in my completed auctions list. I have not received and XP for either of these giveaways.

Might be an idea not to create any further giveaways until the situation is clearer.

I have a note of the keys used, so if they have disappeared into the ether and not been won by anyone, I can at least pass them to someone else, but IG was my favourite way of doing this.

Just thought that maybe this 2 months I'm unlucky to win any games (even with those GAs with only 50 or less entries), but after reading this, then also found out many GAs without winners (checking by page details) maybe there's something wrong in the giveaway section.

At least the last giveaway I've done (December 4th) it still works (winner won and said thx)

Waiting someone who has won any GA here in these day to come out to say, so at least we now that some giveaways are still giving to winners but with showing problem of the site itself, or it'd just be useless to make giveaways these days

I have the same matter, I did gave a couple of giveaways with no name of the winner, I am wondering if I need to recreate the giveaway with the same key ?

Maybe waiting for others giveaways that shows properly the winner's name or profile, or your keys would get into the same way that end up with no winners (but anyway just save those keys before forgetting or it would really get lost)

I had a guaranteed giveaway that ended December 19 without a winner so it was definitely within that time period where it all went wrong.

I don't think you can re-list the same key on an Indiegala giveaway. When you try that, the Giveaway won't go through. I think Indiegala have some sort of system to check if a key has been submitted before, which, if they do, is a good idea as it blocks key spammers. Unfortunately, in this case it works against those who have been affected by the 'null-winnwe' problem - we can't relist.

Giveaways without a winner in my profile have all found a winner name, so I guess the problem has been fixed.

Yep, looks like it is fixed. Almost all the items now have named winners and I have received the XP points for the giveaways.
