How bout you close this POS GA site down?

Gala Giveaways was so much more better than this POS, and it also ran smoothly; unlike this POS that says "Error. Try again in a few minutes" every few days for each GA or even the site not even working.

If you can't even keep the GA site up and WORKING, just take it down.

You can't even keep these forums working right.

I for one kind of like this site. It has its minor issues but they are slowly getting fixed and its an easy way for me to trade games without actually interacting all that much via steam.

I noticed you haven't used the site much according to your profile (or you're posting from an anonymous account) and from the two posts i've seen you either criticize people or the site itself. Try to lighten up a bit :)

Today is the first day indiegala seems to be having real issues with latency and errors so give them some slack in my opinion. They seem to be willing to work on bugs if you report them as well and im sure they're trying to fix these issues we're having at the moment.

This seems to be your only suggestion in ALL of your post, how about positive/constructive criticism?!

The site has slowly been getting better, they just need to optimize it a bit more. im assuming the problems might be due to changing some things around hopefully?..

either way, positivity can go a long way rather than negative comments. also the site cant be all that bad as you have been visiting it over the last week+ (based on forum comments i have seen)

but back on topic.
I also have been getting 'Error. Try again in a few minutes'
and getting a blank page saying something like 'no giveaways found, try again later'
also 500 internal server errors on forums + the post/topic cannot be found.

I have been using this giveways section since it started.
There have been problems since day 1.
They NEVER had any problems like this with the old gala giveways site they had and shut down for this POS.
And yes, it has gotten better, but the stuff KEEPS happening and it shouldn't be happening at all at this point.

Me too, all of those, probably everyone does. They should really change the entire system to something lighter. All those AJAX requests (I assume) cause heavy load on the server.

No need to close it down, the old giveaways are still there, maybe less frequent but still there, if you do not like this new giveaway section just do not use it.

Servers seems to be overloaded or they are being attacked and dealing with millions of fake querys, who knows? They will end up solving this or they will loose users, so keep calm.

All the ajax request they use seem to send full html responses back to the user causing higher bandwidth per query.
rather than just sending all relavent data (json), then build the html on users side.

even the 'check all' button sends an ajax request for every giveaway to tell the server you have checked the giveaway (so it doesn't appear under the 'to check' area), the key is already client side though.

Site's broken for me right now. Giveaway libraries not working. Also Trade Library. also having that "error try again". it's a site error not my browser I can confirm. and the fonts while posting this reply are invisible.

I have teh same problems with the IndieGala Website. Very low loading. Giveaway section nearly unuseable. Often errors opening next side or not working clicking on giveaways.

Best thing: from today i get always a Avast Antivir Warning

JS:Downloader-DFD in capsule

Only at IndieGala.

Maybe the site is hacked and damaged with a trojaner???!?????

Today I am seeing strange behaviour on completed giveaways, after several hours there is nothing to check although there should be, anyone else have noticed this?

I'll wait several days before adding my next batch of giveaway, to be sure to not penalize people who won't be able to connect during this time lapse!

Ok, I now can see this must be a change, seems like you no longer need to check anything, just see your won keys on the list.

I get an error when trying to join a giveaway. Everything worked fine a few days ago and ever since they add the captcha thing it went downhill

I hate a key unveiled without checking all once. But that haven't happened since and I figured it was redsparrow's addon (it wasn't). Random fluke I suppose?

Indiegala could be messing with some stuff on there end, hopefully it will just show won giveaways in a recently won section maybe?

edit: my giveaways are no longer appearing in the 'To Check' section at all.
maybe they have updated it to only show the won giveaways.

edit edit: also the 'check all' button they put there not long ago has dissapeared so assuming they must be updating it all

Same here - only shows "check if you win" for giveaways that ended just a few minutes - less then an hour ago. Anything that ended (supposed to end) overnight - just doesn't show at all, and I know I've entered a lot (even though I had issues with errors too). No button to "check them all" either. If it shows just won giveaways - it's still not consistent (or only kicks in after some period of time after GA ends?).
Giveaways itself runs smoothly today though.

Also it would be nice if IG staff or mods would let us know about changes so we don't have to guess what's going on. Even if it's not final but just ongoing - it would lighten the mood for users (and probably take the wind out of sails of OP and others alike).

Agreed would be better if they made a post stating something like - "Currently upgrading the my-account giveaways section. may be intermittently down."

Also "Won" giveaways appear straight under the won section, would be better if the list was ordered the oposite way so you could clearly see there is something new, otherwise the only thing you have to go off is if you have left feedback. or if they changed "To Check" ---> "Recently Won" would be good too.

either way, glad we no longer have to check every giveaway.
