Look I know everyone has their ideas of what would make the site better and I keep telling you all give it time. they are working on it. And this part is true. now IF you want to help us eliminate the freebies and fake giveaways the BEST way to do this is to compile a list of all the fake and freebies each day (yes I know there are several) or when ever your on the site. then emailing the list to support@indiegla.com and contact@indiegala.com . You might add that if they allowed the mods the power to clean it up it would be a lot better.
The problem is everything has a priority and us beaing able to clean up the giveaways is low on the totem pole. If they get enugh complaints then they will move us up on the list and eventually , with your help , we will be able to clean it up. Feel free to offer other complaints / Suggestions in your emails as well so they can add them to the priority list.

I think the easiest way to do that would be that mods need to manual allow the give aways before they apear, it might be longer before they apear but it hink that would be worth it no for a good experience, also you could make a white list in the give away section for the people who don't need to wait for activation if trusted enough.

Just allow "only" guaranteed GA's solves all your problems.
Think about it... no reports for fake GAs... no reports for invalid or revoked keys anymore...no 1.000 sites of the same game. Thats the only one solution.

That's not fair to legit users then they all complain. I would be one of the ones locked out of creating giveaways. So that means I couldn't dump non bundle games anymore. All that needs to be done is people complain so they give the tools for us to close and delete giveaways like we had on the old site.

It's not the one and only solution. In fact it's not a real solution at all, just a fast and easy way out to cut corners to making a very limited giveaway system. I personally wouldn't want that and I'm sure lots of others wouldn't either.

A good solution is exactly what Jason suggested about posting a list of free games that need to be excluded from the list and do the rest of what he suggested.

I've reported several. Support told me, and I quote, 'We are sorry but for the moment we can't ban him, the winner should leave a negative feedback and all users who reach a certain threshold of negative feedbacks are automatically banned."

your right they should But I have seen people with 10 + Negative feedbacks Because people complained about the number it was set at. Sadly most of the positives on those Large amount of negatives was giving away free games and the winner eithe A.) didn't know or b.) was offering the same things for giveaways. Eventually things will be set up a lot better. i just really hope that the site lasts that long.

Same here. I've told support that they're going to need to do something different than just relying on negative feedbacks if they want the giveaways to work and stick around. There are too many that just don't bother giving feedback and even if they do, it allows you to cheat the system so many times before you even have to worry about anyone doing anything about it.

Like I've mentioned before in another thread something that would already help reduce the amounts of fake giveaways and scammers would be to restrict "free" Steam accounts from even using the GA or Trade section. It's a long shot but whenever I check the Steam account of those fake giveaway creators it's mostly dummy account with either a low level or mainly used for card farming. Sometimes I wish they were stupid enough to actually create the giveaway with their main account but that's usually never the case. Right now you can literally just go, make a new Steam account, sign up on here with a dummy eMail and then just create giveaways and trades without a problem after adding your dummy Steam account to your dummy profile. Needless to say, that really is an issue. I mean, I know this isn't SG but there has to be some kind of solution to get this under control at least somewhat. Honestly, I'd even go as far as adding an account worth filter. Not necessarily $100 but let's say $15 or maybe $20. I know a lot of people think that restrictions suck and what not but honestly, with the amount of fakers, scammers, and trolls on this website I don't think there's much of a choice than to really change something mainly about the access to the giveaway and trade section. That might also reduce the amount of troll feedback which then again also makes it easier for the support. In my opinion, it's a win-win situation.

I still think that a public black list of unwanted steam offers would be a good thing.
They would not be created as ga in the first place, repackaging would be obvious (and could be easily pointed at) and those who got the the keys by other means have the time to wait several days/months/years/decades/centuries.

(by the way .... it still causes me to rage quit the indiega if the current ga is aborted at the end of the form)

EDIT:
I'm talking about a current blacklist of unwanted offers not permanent (in stone carved list) just to take the spam, current beta wave and the free ga frenzy from the indiegala ga list.

It needs to be a combination of steam and indiegala account,
Something that they might regret to lose.
Just as an example (don't take the numbers seriously, just rolling the dice):
Steam lvl > 5
Non free steam games > 10
transactions with IG > 2

EDIT: additional thoughts
steam years > 1
IG membership > 6 months
steam archivements > 10

as malus:
all cards farmed

Agreed some sort of restrictions would be good.

mostly these:
Steam lvl >= 5
transactions with IG >= 2
Non free steam games >= 7

Since it happens that I have a support case with IG once in a while, what would be the most non intrusive/anoying way to report?
Like:
support@indiegla.com or contact@indiegala.com for either alpha/beta keys, massgivaway, exploiting the system, keyfarmer or worse
title of email - to make it clear that it is not a support case with an transaction
content of the mail - just a list of IG ga links / fishy steam links / IG user profiles or is more needed?

It would be no problem to collect some entries while browsing the giveaways for giving pointers, but:
I don't want to spam or choke the support!

well Like I said it is easy to say .. they should do this or they should do that But posting it in the forums are Like peeing into the wind. It might give you a warm feeling But all your ackomplishing is to get yourself wet. Emailing support gets something done. Becaus eof the emails that was sent they have made it so people can't do subs. When we get a game banned because it is free people was making giveaways using the sub of it. Now that is no longer possible. upset that you have to type it all out and then get an error. this is because it is a free game. (it costs on steam) Any game that was in a mass giveaway is considered a free game. And if your trying to give one away I find it funny you go to all the trouble and get an error. If you didn't know and have that problem. well the one or 2 people that would fall under that catagory i am sorry But try a if game,.

Don't like the $15 thing. My account has over 150 games...worth 0 on Steamgifts. As time goes by...the value keeps decreasing....not great.

Do like the manual thing by moderators. Wish we can retract an entry...sometimes I accidently click on a fake a giveaway.

There are some patient fakers (+ve Feedback)....puts GTA V but is Beast Blaster...lol.

Is there any way to "check" the key, if it's legit, without actually using it? For example through the Steam?
The not-fair givers could use non-guaranteed keys any time they want, but it there's any way to check if the key is not valid, then using such an option could be very useful. The keys could be checked both at the beginning of the lottery and then from time to time, like every X minutes :)
