I'm curious about this as well, I'm in eastern Europe (we're in Eurozone tho) and the store also displays in USD for me. I think it might have something to do with the Galacredit, because Galacredit is only available in USD? But that's just a guess, may not be so.

...and still LESS than simple 1$=1EUR usual conversion done by the EU shops so how about keeping the prices in dollars and say big "thank you indiegala" for this?

i get your point but because i have a flat charge fee for the exchange service or whatever it never pays of in a price of a game, it would work on something more expensive like a gpu or something like that.
I must get a difference credit card or something

Would this still happen to you if you used GooglePay or PayPal?

Wow, I admit didn't suspect this kind of charge fees exist. All banks I ever knew are using percentage charge while exchanging currency here.
But honestly, for your own good you need to find something out how to reasonably pay in USD. I mean, the internet is vast and most popular currency is USD

Also... there are countries in EU which are not in eurozone (yet) and they have to exchange currency regardless if price is in EUR or USD. So the prices in USD is blessing while price in EU is (usually) a curse for them. Coincidentally, those out of eurozone countries are poorer ones so EUR price it's just another nail in their coffin

Strange… I'm in the US, and while the store shows prices in USD, when go to check out (via PayPal) the price shows up in EUR, often higher than the price I was shown in USD.

E.g. I just bought a game bundle for "$10", but PayPal said I was being charged €10.10, converting to about $12.50 USD. I pay anyway since it's still cheaper than buying the games individually, but seems a bit fraudulent misleading.

Hi,

We have checked and it seems that you have made 1 purchase from Germany and 2 purchases from UK, are you using a proxy or a VPN?

Let us know.

Thank you

I do use a VPN, though I generally select a US connection for exactly this reason, and I'm pretty certain I was at this time also. Don't recall now but I believe I connected to UK to see if it would show prices in dollars then. 😄 Not sure about Germany…

Guess I'll have to experiment a bit and see. For the record, IG showed prices in dollars, but the PayPal prices were in euro. Assuming I'm correct about being connected through US at the time, possibly dollars were converted to euro for checkout at one rate, and converted back by PayPal at another rate?
