That's why I mostly buy DRM Free games.That's not just it. Most will never update the files. The more years go by and new systems get developed (windows etc) the less likely is that we'll be able to play them. Like it's a hassle to play a 1998 game from a floppy disk xD
Also try preserving old games on iOS is even worse, you need to have the correct hardware and software version. Most OS version can't even be downgraded if you update them accidently. And you cannot install the games natively, you have to jailbreak your devices first.
