Wow, nice to see this epic game made available for free.
I've owned it since the original release. Played the hell out of it.
One of the best games ever. A touch of strategy and city management, a touch of RPG, a touch of visual novel... truly amazing. The lore is epic, and there are just so many ways to tackle different situations. Always a new experience.

Also, when you end your game, you get a text file created that is a record of all your actions and choices through the game, and basically comes out as a short story that you can sit back and enjoy.

Unfortunately this looks like it's based on the 2015 rerelease which is a port of the mobile version and they didn't even update the controls to work properly with keyboard and mouse. It's very mobile-ish and everything is still setup like a touch screen. The mouse wheel doesn't even work to scroll menus. You have to click and drag. It's very annoying to play because of the controls. The 1999 original is much better.
