This has to be one of the worst systems I have ever seem lol. My god, some people really don't know how to handle stuff. Good thing we still have steamgifts.

Or it's simply because 90% of the users now are pissed off, get errors, can't solve captcha... Also wow, selling those 1-2 keys they win per month to key reseller must be crazy worth... I mean bots or not they still have to win and also have the same 240 coin limit... Also concerning fakes, perhaps they used bots to do those mass fake GAs then? But then why not add a captcha there on the create GA then?

Also the best example why bots doesn't matter for GAs where you have to enter only to have a chance to win is Steamgifts, because there a lot of people use apps to automatically enter GA's, but they only save some time for the user that's all. It's not a big difference to what the Indigala Helper Extension does with autoenter giveaways, a feature i didn't use btw. because i want have control over what i enter and what not, but still not big difference.

So i wonder what this crap captcha trainwreck really prevents here, probably prevents 90% legit users from entering by pissing them off so bad they even leave the site as such. Which then naturally means there will be less GAs too for sure.

The 4 part captchas are ridiculous. Site feels like trying to run underwater now. I get the need for security measures but this destroys the user experience completely.

Captcha stops bots? Well, yes - and no. There are ways around it for determined people, and those who use many bot accounts would easily find a solution so they can keep going. Yes, there will be less of them - but also there will be less legitimate users. Spending 30 min (at least!) to enter GAs when before it took 5? No thank you - I have other things to do too. And if it's so user un-friendly - people will not make GAs either: why amke them if there nobodu entering? This all will lead to pretty much dead site.
Indie Gala! Guys! You are trying to solve a problem - good, but you should start with the cause and not with effect. Make it not so easy to create many (fake!) accounts, put some requirements there: Steam level, or amount of money spent on this site (bundles or store) - something that would make it not possible (or at least not feasible) to create bot accounts in multiples. Put some restrictions on creating givewaways too - so those bots woudn't be able to create tons of fake giveaways with big value. Stop doing everything based on trust - we don't live in ideal world after all - and make sure that users can report bad "gamers" and then you actually do something about that. Look at Steamgifts - and maybe learn somnething there.

I'm level four and have never used a bot. I would use up most silver coins on most days. Yesterday? I entered about 6 or 7 giveaways total. Because this is needlessly time wasting bull****.

There's so drastically fewer entries because excessive-to-the-point-of-nonsense captchas are driving most people away.

And with this galagold & auctions stuff showing up just after the giveaways section getting virtually maimed...

Could IG have done this to make the new auctions more attractive to people? I mean for many people the giveaways section is now practically usesless because of the ridiculous craptchas. Which means most people aren't using their gala silver anymore.

Then what comes along the next day. Auctions, where you can use up an entire day's worth of gala silver in one go.

But wait! Auctions can go over 240 coins as you can see, so hey, why don't you buy more silver coins! Because these coins that you're no longer using anyway (because we made the giveaways section so tedious and time wasting) probably isn't enough to win an auction anyway, so... Need more Indiegala Silver?

This combination of the giveaway section being made as useless as it possibly could be, adding auctions which can use up a full day's worth of silver in one go, and now you can buy more gala silver too (and even have to in order to have a real chance of winning an auction, it seems). Could they really have intentionally maimed the giveaway section to try to get people to shift over to auctions--where it's necessary to spend real money in order to have a chance, unlike the giveaway section that they just maimed?

IG really needs to speak up about the thinking behind the giveaway captchas being so excessive. There's no sane explanation for it that I can think of... but intentionally making the giveaway section repellant could almost make a kind of sense, given how it could potentially "benefit" auctions. That sounds dreadful. But I can't completely shake the thought. Do other people find this combination of recent changes all put together to be a bit suspect?

My first thought after reading this was ohh look those plagues spread, now even Indiegala got infected with the TopWare Interactive / Two Worlds II Microtransaction-Console-ban ehh Rockstar / TakeTwo OpenIV modders ban ehh Bethesda paid mods Virus... This plague like the similar Denuvo Anti Consumer plague seems to be very contagious... lmao!

Even the symptoms match perfectly: Forum gets flooded with complains from pissed off customers, customers start to abandon the brand, customers starts to spread negative word-of-mouth on social media, customers close and seal their wallets for said brand, customers moves to alternatives,...

And like all plagues, it's easier to get it as to cure and even if cured the long term damage is desastrous, because once a brand got infected with that plague it's not sure if it doesn't come to renewed outbreaks, seems there is no real cure and that virus only changes into a dormant form. So once a brand got it, it's better to avoid it completely for a while and to very carefully monitor it in quarantine conditions before opening the wallet ever again.

Roflmao!
