I've noticed user vasa767676 (a level 0 user) has created no less than six give aways of Atavism and a copy of GTA 5. It's obviously another scammer trying to cheat their way to level 5, can we get some kind of a "report user" button next to peoples giveaways so we can one click report these losers?

I think multiple negative feedbacks will get the person banned, I also can't see why anyone would create fake giveaways since they won't yield giving exp? But I understand the concern, I am happy that all the giveaways I won where genuine. I hope these aren't fake but I see your point and you might be right but still I refuse to judge anyone before effectively winning a fake giveaway. Let's just wait it out?

well I supose the idea behind creating fake giveaways is to make people spend their coins quickly so the users that created this fake giveaways (wich have for sure, multiple accounts) spend their coins in real giveaways, it's a way of reducing the number of entries for real giveaways and increase their winning probabilities.

My understanding behind the fake give aways is twofold, one so they can (ideally) win the give away with another fake account of their own and give false positive feedback to gain free xp. Two, not everyone knows about the feedback button next to won giveaways so don't provide negative feedback, which after 7 days (or less?) will automatically turn into positive feedback by the system.

In short, they're hoping to exploit the way Inde Gala works to earn levels so they can enter the high level give aways rather than create legitimate giveaways like the rest of us who earn our levels do.

Well Although We missed the chance Please remember to always report. Currently the mods don't have the power to ban giveaways Like that but Hopefully in the future we will be able to. And if we catch it early enough we can send a report to indiegala (you can email support with these as well) And maybe we can get them taken care of early. thanks for helping and i appologize I didn't get to see it earlier.

Isn't there a posibility to check keys with a steam database, so that suspicious giveaways would receive a flag. A giveaway moderator could than go to the flagged giveaways to find out the reason of the flag and posibly delete the giveaway and outrestore ic? (after putting it in the terms of service)

You could also ban users by ip so that one users multiple accounts all get banned instead of just those where they do fake giveaways with. It would surely discourage some of them? (and edit terms of service)

And maybe you could even ask steam to revoke keys won by fake profiles? (also after editing terms of service)

these are only sugestions of course :p

Although they are good suggestions it isn't possible. Once you "test" a key with steam it is no longer any good. They do have and use an IP ban but most of the users that do those things use proxies and when you ask steam to do anything they will simply say "Not our responsibility to police your website" (has ben asked before) But still good suggestions.

What can be done easily is compare the key with other keys shared on indiegala, if the key was already given away here, you can add a warning or something indicating that the key has been given away before ( unless it came from a verified giveaway), you can even limit the amount of times the same key can be given away.
Other things like blocking proxies, or banning users that connect fron the same computer or browser and have never bought in indiegala before (probably abusers) or not allowing users with free steam accounts to create trades or giveaways.

The keys are checked to see if they was already given away on the website but it doesn't stop if you already used it or was given away someone else. They also Have proxy blockers in effect from "known" proxies And even email blockers on certain known fake extensions. Also only allow 2 people from same IP and only Once can that person get the free games they give away. Once again are good ideas that are already in effect as much as they can be. unfortunately there are millions of proxies and they can't know them all. And you can make a website and make Millions of emails off of it or heck make 50 Hotmail of gmail emails. They have as many blockers as they possibly can but remember the site is already slow. can you imagine i everytime you tried to log on it had to compare your ip to millions of them. that alone would take hours. Would you like every page to take an hour to load?

I wonder if it would help if there was something such as a "giver of the month"? or giver rankings where you can compare whose the most generous giver based on amount of honoust giveaways, average giveaway value, ... and have a "giveaway veterans" section (givers that have been here longer than most but still have no negative feedback and a lot of positive feedbacks) just to give a more rewarding feeling to those who play by the rules? I know fake givers probably won't care, but if it doesn't then it still might be nice towards honoust givers?

Also since people have to connect there steam profile, you could show VAC standing on the giveaway info or there profiles. If someones steals here, they're more likely to also have a bad reputation stealing on steam and thus having a bad VAC trading status. (I think Valve implemented that already?) Cheaters could also be more likely to do this. I konw there are others sites where you could do this manually but it would be time consuming if we have to check those websites for every giveaway we enter :p

P.S.: Could this be a fake giveaway? https://www.indiegala.com/giveaways/detail/135487

I've reported that user to the Indiegala support via eMail and added links to all the fake giveaways they had created, a link to their IG profile as well as their Steam profile and IG support has responded that they have banned the user.

I've also sent a suggestion to Indiegala to maybe adapt a somewhat similar system like it is used on SG where your account can't be a restricted one and needs to have a certain value, even though I don't think the value is necessary but I definitely do think that it should not be possible to access the trades or giveaways section with restricted Steam accounts.

I alos think that it would be a good idea if a user's Steam account would actually be linked on their IG profile as soon as they connect it because with people changing their names on Steam on using names that are very common it's almost impossible to find them and check their Steam to double check whether it's an active or trash account.

No matter what they do, something needs to happen because there's way too many scammers in the trades and way too many fakers in the giveaways to make it fun to actually use either of those services on here.

@Mr Hatty - Anyone with a 0 | 0/0 reputation making a giveaway for something that's worth 192 ic is 99.99999999% fake. Simply report them to the Indiegala support as I did and request for them to be banned because the Steam account connected to that IG account is most likely a trash account anyhow.
