I am trying to add Element97 (and most likely arslanV) on steam because apparently the key was bad for one of my giveaways. So if Element97 reads this, please accept my friend request on steam.

This is a major hassle for giveaway-ers in the case that a key is somehow bad, there is no method of contact or an alert period to settle the problem before I get a red mark on my profile.

Requesting Indiegala to implement a solution for these sorts of cases. If I don't resolve this, I guess I'm retiring from giving away any more keys before risking getting banned or something, sorry guys.

I have no idea why your key would be "Bad" all the sudden. This is one of the reasons that regifting games is not allowed. Alledgedly people are only supposed to be giving away games they purchased or recieved through proper channels. Now there are times when you could still get a bad key but as a whole You should never recieve a bad key to give away. That being said I liked it when everyones profile linked to their steam account so Not only could you get ahold of the winner when possible you could get ahold of the person that was giving the key if it turned out to be bad as well.

And that is why I said I am trying to add them. as well as post here in case they check here first or havent been on steam. I didn't say or imply in any way the key "turned" bad suddenly, it's not like I enter it into my steam to check if it's valid first, I only know it's invalid when I get a thumbs down when I check my completed giveaways.

I'm not asking for a discussion, I'm trying to resolve a problem because we're not friends on steam yet and there's no PM system here. It wasn't too hard to search for their profile on steam although I agree it would be much better if their profile was directly linked.

When you regift keys, this is the risk you take. Regifting is frowned upon, because the winner gets screwed out of their game so to speak and you end up getting a thumbs down. Too many negatives lead to a ban.

But as for PMing, maybe it will be added in the future. The site just got completely redone.

The reason I'm trying to contact them is to either give them another key of the same game or some other game of similar value. I realize that the winner wants their game and I'm willing to pay for another one if the key truly doesn't work, that is the reason I'm giving away keys isn't it?
