Hello everyone,

I just got a negative feedback on a giveaway i created, but the key was 100% legit.

Is there a way i can dispute the negative feedback ? should i e-mail ig support or theres just no hope that this can get fixed ?

Thanks

i dont wanna rush and destroy the guy's rep if it was a mistake .... he won 2 consecutive key from me, but gave 1 positive and 1 negative feedback

was just wondering if theres any point in contacting support about this

The most support will do is email the user and ask them to talk to you on Steam.

Support won't / can't help you. Trust me, been there, done that.

But I want his name for my blacklist...

Support will say:eek:nly the winner mail to them can change the feedback.
You just give up the feedback and point if him/her don't want to communicate with you.
And then, add blacklist.

So I'm here and if the essence of the site is? I do not have to mark every win. I likewise won, I did not need keys and I gave them away in the same way

The feedback system is not there to judge if u need or do not need a key. It is there to "judge" if the key is good or not. If the key is good(meaning it works and it is from the game announced on the giveaway) you give a positive feedback.

So i would ask you please to contact indiegala support and ask them to change the negative feedback you gave me.

And also, in the future, don't do this anymore. Use the feedback system properly please, so this kind of stuff does not happen to other users.

Thank you

And this makes me think that if a giver tries to contact someone on Steam because they believe they gave a legit key, and gets refused repeatedly, there should be some kind of recourse for the giver. Maybe a box that a giver can check if there was false negative feedback. After all, wrongly marking negative is a kind of feedback abuse. And if someone would get marked for doing false negative feedback a lot, it would be clear they are being a troll and maybe they could get disabled at least for a while. If they still keep doing that it could be longer suspensions, until they just can't come back any more.

Though there is a blacklist now, it's pretty small (for lower level givers especially) and, more importantly, for someone doing false negative a lot it would be much more effective to ban them from entering giveaways at least for a while than relying on individual people to blacklist them one by one. Blacklist is helpful for individual givers, but just not very effective sitewide against the (hopefully few) people that just want to give negative to legit giveaways for some reason.

There's one other thing I've noticed that I don't know what a good solution would be. Language barrier.

At first I thought both the negative feedbacks I got a while ago were people just trolling. But once I found out you could mouse over the feedback to see what they said, I realized that they both said something not in english. So I'm wondering if sometimes an incorrect negative feedback comes from someone not understanding english well enough and having some kind of problem because of it.

Yes, at times I think- a negative feedback is because of Language Barrier. I clearly wrote the same notice 2 differing ways, to clearly explain the key and giveaway. Still got a negative feedback. I said to myself this person can't read... Checked later and found out - no the winner did not.... I say to everyone if the key is good then good feedback...

I hate to jump in here, but why does they giver assume the key was valid? There can be cases where the person who gave you the key screwed up and the key is invalid through no fault of your own. This comes up over and over. Legit places the sell keys get them wrong sometimes. Humble Bundle store gave me bad keys a couple times. Hell, IndieGala guaranteed some game keys from other people that turned out invalid and has marked some of my guarantees that I know I traded already as still available -- so if I traded them again the other person would get a bad key. If you keep your keys on a text list you may have forgotten to mark them as used or accidentally picked the wrong one (and as good as my reputation is, I know I've done both of those things before and was just lucky the person I was trading with understood that mistakes can happen and let me fix the issue).

I agree that IG has a fault with people marking good keys as invalid, but I also don't think people necessarily understand how keys work. They are by no means perfect. There's a certain amount of fuzziness involved.
