I don't know why it was considered a good idea to take time remaining away from the main giveaway page. It's useful information to have there.

For example, I opened up the main giveaway page today and then had a distraction come up that I had to take care of. I came back in just a few minutes, but it turned out that several giveaways I would have wanted to enter had already finished. If the main giveaway page just showed when those giveaways were going to end I would have known to quickly enter those first before leaving for a minute. It really makes no sense to take useful information like that away from the main giveaway page.

Besides that, not knowing what giveaways are going to end first also makes the sort by price option practically useless. Yet there's no other way to find higher priced giveaways when you don't have much time and want to use up your coins quickly, but would rather spend them on say something ending in a day or two rather than things ending a month from now. Why reduce the usability like this?

Also it won't show if I've clicked on it (the tag is still there) and if I do it'll give a message saying "error, try again later.". This is in chrome so I may try another browser and see if it does it to.

Time remaining can be implemented by sending the ending timestamp to the client, and generate the remaining time on the client side. This approach is cache friendly, since the server side don't need recalculate the remaining time every time a page is reloaded.

I guess they remove whether a giveaway has been entered to reduce query time, since it's unique to each user. There are several techniques to resolve this problem, but I guess it's better left to IG developer.

I have the same problem in Firefox. So I don't think that is the fault of the browser

Sometimes when I click on an entry it works and other times I get the "Error, try again later message". I have tried using Edge and IE. After some trial and error, I think the error appears if you click on an entry that you have already entered. I notice that tickets you have entered are no longer shown with the stub missing.

Hopefully this will be fixed as it is very confusing and user unfriendly.

I also would like to see the time remaing added back.

Best regards,

Jim

Both options are pretty ridiculous to remove imo.
The extra load to gather that info would not be enough to justify removing it.

best guess for IndieGala update tesing policy:

I really hope you know how to fix this, they broke the giveaways section again with this f***ing "Extra odds". You are doing a very difficult job for us, every time they changing something...

What are those "Extra odds" anyway? How could I do that if I want to - I don't see that option when I create giveaways. Is it limited? To whom and how? Why there's no info about it anywhere?
And speaking of giveaways in general - I still see some people are able to create giveaways for games that were restricted for MONTHS! From time to time still popping up Killing Floor and Outlast, couple of times I saw Dungeons 2 - and I'm not even talking about various DLC packs for FoG and Tap Adventure - yet if I try to make a giveaway for any of those it's restricted. How those people are able to do something that's not possible for majority of users? And more important - why are they able to get away with it?

And yes - time remaining and tabs for entered givewaways needs to be back! Navigating GA section was already hard without additional hoops we now have to jump through. And btw - if it was done to reduce the load - I think it might have backfired. Before I would see right away what GAs I've entered (or not) and enter what I want from the main page or open up new tab only if I have some doubts about some particular GA or want to check some info there. Now - I have to open every GA that I potentially want, every time I visit this section. Plus instead of sorting them by some criteria - I just go through all of them, so instead of visiting, let's say, 5-10 pages now I open up upwards from 50! I'd say instead of reducing load on servers it creates more traffic. Though if that was a goal behind the update - well, it might have worked as intended. :(

I also don't know why they remove that information.
Regarding the extra odds giveaways I supose the those are limited to verified giveaways, if anyone was able to create this then scammers are going to infest the giveaways sections even with more shit.
About this new extra odds option, I've seen this level 5 giveaway https://www.indiegala.com/giveaways/detail/397438 that has more than 4130 entries and that's hard to believe, I do the math here https://www.indiegala.com/forums/topics/1555.
Again we have to deal with a faulty system that only benefits exploiters.

RIP IndieGala Giveaways section,
You dont even need to have enough coins to enter giveaways anymore.
The multi giveaways can be entered unlimited amount of times until it ends.

Pretty big fuck up on their end

Well may aswell tell others how to do this seeing as some people are obviously doing it majorly

This one has over 11,000 entries https://www.indiegala.com/giveaways/detail/397767?
  1. Open a "extra odds" giveaway page
  2. Open Dev Console (F12 usually)
  3. enter the following code

Code:
document.getElementsByClassName("animated-coupon")[0].classList.remove("low-coins"),setInterval(function(){document.getElementsByClassName("animated-coupon")[0].click();},1e3);

I'm sure that qwwwwwweeeeeerrrrrrrrtttttt guy with 16+ accounts would like to kiss you if he sees this. I'd show you who I'm talking about but even bookmarks to partisipants in old giveaways don't work any more.
I'm wondering if indiegala is prepared for more than 65535 entries into one giveaway or from a single person.

Furthermore, remove the "extra odds" please. People can make a lot of new accounts to try to win 1 game at lv 0.

Well, at least users can decide if they want to use the new type of GA, if you know is faulty don't use it, but this is a huge problem because abusers will have some time to level up their accounts giving fake positive feedback, so from now on I'll stop creating GA.

F...k indiegala.

The whole giveaways area is broken atm,
Could litterally make a 240 galasilver cost giveaway and enter it with an alt account 10000 times.
