My only doubt is that the anniversary upgrade is specifically for the Special edition. Even the link provided says "This content requires the base product The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition in order to play." It's not for legendary edition. So it wouldn't really make sense to mention it in a blog about the legendary edition. Would have been better with a seperate blog post about special edition and include the upgrade there.

For me, Morrowind is the Best entry in the series. I would rank Skyrim third among all Elder Scroll games.
I absolutely understand why is Skirym is appreciated the way it is. But for me , it just didn't work , I had to force myself to finish it , just didn't get hooked in for some reason . I think the main problem lies in the main story , you are "the chosen one trope" is just overdone for me. But objectively Skirym is a great game , just not for me . I would take Dark Souls 1 or Witcher 2 or 3 over it in a hearthbeat.

Story was always the weakest point in skyrim. All the factions have okay or just bad questline.
But funny thing is that my first playthrough in Oblivion was almost 90 hours whereas my first playthrough in skyrim was almost 150 hours.
The reason being the overworld in skyrim. I had so much fun running around in skyrim. I met with the greybeard after about 60 hours and finished the main game after 100 hours. I just explored the game. I mined ore, made armor set, weapons to put it in my armor and weapon stand. Enchanting was cool. I accidently made a set of enchanted armor that cost no magicka for destruction magic. Vampire was a better than Oblivion since I don't take constant sun dmg and much more detailed than the werewolf in skyrim. The dragonborn dlc was great. Solstheim was great. It felt so nice to actually improve their life there. The apocrypha where the black books were found was such a spooky place. The random encounters were great. Got attacked by werewolves, thieves, saw a headless ghost riding a horse, werebears, got challenged by mage, got yeeted by a giant, saw a random cannibal on the road, got attacked by vampires disguised as vigilants.
Basically the more I ignored the main story or factions, the more fun I had. It's not even surprising why people mod it so much. It has everything to make a great game. Story wise I would pick Oblivion and Fallout New Vegas(even with 100 crashes) any day.

@nirjor Oh and yeah I was talking about the vanilla version , I heard that the mods vastly improve the experience. I also ignored the main quest for the most part , but when I realized that I am not having fun with side content , I just rushed to finish the main quest . I always have that problem with Bethesda's rpg's wasn't much of a fan of Fallout 3 or 4 either . I think it comes down to writing , the writing in those games just doesn't click for me, I think they are much better at creating settings of a game than wiritting memorable quest or characters. But to each their own, like I said before there is no denying that Skirym is a great game.
