What to do? Does Indiegala do anything if reported?

A user won a recent Borderlands 2 giveaway I did, I have checked their steam account they have both BL2 RoW and Russian versions, BL2 RoW has 2.1 hours of playtime but not in the last 2 weeks, so they have entered the giveaway knowing they have it.

So potentially they have a key they might resell or put up on other giveaway sites.

So what to do in that situation?

There is not much you can do. It is not illegal to win a game you own on indiegala unlike other giveaway sites. If you made a giveaway, you have to provide a working key or they can give you negative feedback. Indiegala don't stop people entering giveaways for games that people own so you have to think about this before making them. I giveaway guaranteed keys on this giveaway site knowing they can be resold but there are a lot of people that do activate their keys. If this isn't something you can be ok about, I would suggest you can use SteamGifts which is more stringent on rules and things like that.

Yeah I know about Steamgifts after years on there, one staff member was upset that she misread something I posted on their forum and got me banned, for not being able to read something correctly. I tried to get it overturned but never went further. Annoyed me since I gave away close to a couple of grand worth of titles.

It's a shame that IG doesn't implement their script for checking what games are on your steam account with what is being given away onto the giveaways themselves to stop people going for thiings they have already.

Shame I would prefer of course for people to get a key they don't have, which from what I can tell (some people have private or no accounts) most actually do activate their keys.
