Stop linking to the "more info" on a giveaway

Seriously, I'm starting to suspect that the plan is to make up for the high traffic on giveaways making winning anything nearly impossible by making the whole giveaway system so frustrating that it's not even worth using... (In fact, just looking at the giveaways shows that the participants have crashed dramatically - normally, about-to-expire giveaways are always at least three digits in their participants, but now they're 1/2 to 1/3rd what they would normally be.)

So, it already takes 4-5 seconds to load any webpage in this site because the servers are either terribly slow or in some backwater locale connected to the greater Internet via overtaxed landline, and now the plan is to make it so we have to load new pages for every single game we want to take a ticket on?

Going through a daily bout of 240 coins already took up to 30 minutes of my time per day, for which, I've won nothing but a small handful of the garbage games of which there were hundreds floating around, like The Deer. Now, doing the same thing would require roughly 2-3 hours per day, not even counting the several minutes it takes just to reveal all the keys... The only things you could win were the things nobody wanted but which were available in such quantity that you could literally enter into hundreds of contests until you won by brute force. At this point, it takes so long to do so, however, it's not even worth the effort of getting those games just for the cards. I might as well make like I suspect most of these people with dozens of duplicate copies of the same game, and just start scamming the developers directly for free keys.

Agreed I am not even bothering with this now that there are so many clicks.

I'll add my 2cents to that - even though with other sites you actually have to do the same (open a giveaway page to enter for each giveaway) but at least it loads much more quickly (too bad Steam Companion is still down).

Second problem - giveaway section glitches a lot: when you open a giveaway it redirects you to some random page in g/a section, or when you try to get to another page / change filters it will open some random giveaway or some other random page, so I have to reload it - yet again.

Another and much bigger problem though - half the time I can't even load the site at all, not just giveaway section. Between 8am - 3pm PDT (I'm in CA) it's almost impossible to stay logged in and do anything on IG - it either logs me off or crashes the site completely with the message "site encountered a problem, you will be redirected to the home page" (something alone those lines), and then Chrome says that "Indie Gala takes too long to respond". I have to wait for 10-30 minutes to be able to load it again - and then it repeats all anew after a couple of clicks or a few minutes. This is not just frustrating and it interfears not jsut with giveaways - if I have to jump through more and more hoops to buy bundles or games in store there's a big chance that at some point I will stop doing that. I don't have time to sit for half a day and check if it works or not and take a risk that it would crash on me while I'm in the middle of payment process (resulting in needing to contact support and so taking even longer still). I have a work and a family and other stuff to do.

P.S. Saw some typos and tried to edit - and it chashes again. And again I had to wait to reload the site. Damn it all... v:-(

i agree, i really hope they make it 1 click enter again, or atleast fix the servers so it'll take much faster to load the page.

Just about everything that can go wrong with a site has gone wrong with the giveaway section the last few days. For the first time since the giveaways began I've been unable to keep my coins under the cap as it's just not possible to get through the giveaway section completely and throughtly.

A short list of issues I've encountered:
  • The "next page" option will randomly load to either the Indiegala home page, the first page of the giveaway section or a random game page.
  • Expirey time completely out of order EG: 3hours left followed by 5days left
  • Random log outs
  • Crashes to the proxy error page
  • Shockwave crashes
  • Incredibly slow load times
All of this is compounded by no longer being able to enter a giveaway from the main page. I'm not sure if this was intended or part of the current issues. It can be bypassed by opening the page in a new tab but "next page" being a random roulette basically kills the functionality of the giveaway section. I think as a whole we've been really patient, given that this is a free service offering free games but given the continued and mounting issues on top of indiegala's lack of communication...I had issues with the way the giveaway section was designed when it was first launched, major issues that made me question whether I'd want to be a paying customer. A near completely broken section of your site does not instill consumer confidence.

barely been able to enter any even clicking to the "more info" does not always bring up the right page. I am getting logged out a lot too this weekend.

Would rather the tickets went back to the way they were!!

At first when this happened I thought this was a bug, Indiegala if you don't fix this I won't buy another bundle or use this site or anything anymore.

You should have a development enviroment for this, not just changing things on the live site. everything just keeps breaking. and users are getting frustrated, or atleast put an announcement up stating something. communication is key

Sorry but these latest changes have made it much worse.

Last week or maybe two now we could go to giveaways page and see which tickets we had already enetered and also enter on that same page by just clicking on it without going to it's own page (which links to the proper page like 3 /5 times maybe) That was much better than it is now. It takes so much time now that it's almost not worth it plus it's beyond frustrating when it goes to some random giveaway!!

Please change it back!!

Just my two cents on the more details redirect, I noticed that they started that shortly, a day or two, after "Life is Strange: Episode 1" went free. I think it had something to do with all the people that posted the codes for the free episode but titled the listing as if it was the complete game. I'm sure when people got the code and found out that it was just for the free episode that they already had, the listers got a lot of negative rep and then complained about it, even if they didn't specify in the description that it was only for episode 1. So now whether the listers intentionally misled people or assumed that eveyone would interpret "Life is Strange" = only episode 1, now we're redirected to the listing page to force us to have exposure to the description.

Now it's not even showing if it's in my library or not without going into each giveaway.

See the thing is, I have just about as much communication as you. I am here to keep the forums organized. Not an actual staff behind the scenes.
