Time to develop a Blacklist system

As creating fake giveaways or giving away beta keys that are freely available elsewere don't have any real negative impact against those users I would like to propose a Blacklist system, so that people that CARE about this users abusing the system can at least blacklist those users from their giveaways.

Eventually if a user gets included in a lot of blacklists, that case should be reviewed for a permanent ban.

I doubt anything like this will happen, they don't even fix the regular user issues but one can hope I guess.

Sigh, we were promised the return of the Checkall button, still nothing...

Meanwhile use IndieGala Helper by Danial Nickford if you're with Chrome, you have that checkall button there...

Sure :)

first: there are many people which don't understand the concept of dlc and enter ga expecting the game.

second: people don't read the abstract/description of the ga. (yep, I rarely do it myself)

third: (still a major weakness of IG ga and see second) region locks are not mediated in ga

fourth: it is still easier to do a mistake in making a ga than to fix the outcome (which is close to impossible or really expensive time wise)

fifth: there are people blaming you for making a ga on false premise (bad luck if you make a ga for a bundle leftover if that game is/has been given away for free)

sixth: there was a phase in the IG giveaways where people did legit ga but received a negative feedback. The assumption a that point was that key farmer tried to kick out other key farmer reaching higher levels, thus reducing the competion.

The feedback button is/has been often misused/abused. The collateral damage is still felt today (well ... there are other reasons too)
Things are getting better (at least my feeling), would be nice though to see the actual feedback of a ga.

Blacklisting makes only sense if any of the above is defused, otherwise it is just a extention to the feedback button.

Edit: wording and formatting

Well, that DLC thing is totally understandable some people create giveaways of DLCs that are not available for sale on Steam and there is no link to the shop so they pick the full game link instead of DLC and write that they are not giving away the full game but the DLC and for me and most of the people this is an automatic -1, you are publishing a fake giveaway as if you picked the link for GTA V but in the description you write thay the key is for Beast Blasters.
the description is more suited for writing motivations, self promotion or story telling if you want but not to change the giveaway content.

I agree, tho it would be nice if there was an option to ga a keys with 1c on a "NO TITLE FOUND" or something.

Also thanks for the answer BlastCast, I see your point.

yes, that's a valid point - but that would fall under "fake GA" description. What BlastCast was getting at (and many of us encountered) - when people mark negatively legit GA with working key for DLC, just because they couldn't bother to comprehend the difference between DLC and the full game, or just - because they "feel like it". That's how I got my -2. And the "best" thing is - there's no protection from those trolls, support do nothing even when you write to them.

I understand and it's something we have to las ve with for now, I don't create GA of DLCs in order to be safe from that but maybe one day a troll will give me a negative feedback although the key was legit, or maybe not, fingers crossed.
the solution here would be not allowing people entering GA of DLCs if they don't own the game but we will never see that feature here.

I would like to thank Kalimha (Giver Level 4, almost 5) for the fake feedback. Won my giveaway of the game Warhammer 40000 Eternal Crusade (https://www.indiegala.com/giveaways/detail/196671)..and gives me a negative feedback without having used the game key.

I confirm this because I asked a friend to test the key and game was activated.

If the key had not worked, I'd have agreed ... but that was not what happened.

If the game does not interest you ... do not participate in the draw.

If there was a blacklist, you would be the first one on my list.

Pretty sure that CLOSED BETA KEY is not a full game so negative feedback is correct.

To be fair he does say its a closed beta key in the giveaway but some people will mark beta keys as negative regardless.

Lets say i make a giveaway for GTA 7 and type in the description that this is a woodle tree adventures. What do you expect? A positive feedback? He is giving away free beta key as a full game - it IS fake giveaway.

Oliveiracardoso, as others have noticed, the giveaway that you created was a Beta key as you said in the description, if you do not agree with my negative feedback to the giveaway, you can always expose your arguments to support@indiegala.com and they will do what they think is more convenient to solve the issue.

From my point of view and like other people, a Beta Key is not a full game, and for me is like giving away a free game demo.

PD: If anyone wants free XP, you can always create giveaways of full games given away in other sites, at leat I don't mark those as negative but I can't speak of others.

Greetings.
