If you have a gaming Cafe why do you meed a 1070
What if the difference between a gaming cafe and an empty shed is a 1070? You're not playing many new games on a 1070, but if it's just esports, then a 1070 would be fine.
I wouldn't bother sending anything to Yemen, or anywhere really, but I can see if you have no real use for it, and you can make some random kid happy, how someone might do it.

I'm poor, always have been...scraping by day to day ever since I was on my own, I can't say if your rich you shouldn't do that--even if your still a chump lol. Better than having more money than you can ever spend and saying you wouldnt give something away.

Throughout all that I still told Microsoft to piss off and out skilled my own department of defense in encryption...got no regrets not selling out. Except being poor :ROFLMAO:

nobody has a spare motherboard handy in a new box
I keep the box for every PC part. I used to use it when I sold it. Having the box made people more willing to pay a slight premium, and it also served as a useful shipping container. I stopped buying and selling so many things when eBay changed their payment system.
I can't say if your rich you shouldn't do that--even if your still a chump lol.
Like I said, I wouldn't bother, but since I no longer have an easy way of selling things, what would you do with a 1070? Let it collect dust, or give it away? It's worth something, but is it worth the hassle of dealing with low ball poors wasting your time?

On that note of rich people with more money than they could ever spend in sanity...I got till the end of next month, thats it. Been dealing with a non stop roach infestation (near my Lc in my bedroom this time and even on my desk--I dont even have food there), so I have promised myself I wont be handing him another check on pain of my own death...and you all know how I am about promises.

So this story has hit the end of the road...after that, I don't really know, i'll keep you all updated if any good news comes.

I actually have one that needs a deep cleaning, I was intending to do it here until well...ya, everything. I was going to build a second rig, and if I wasnt doing it for me I would be doing it for someone else I know, not random people on reddit who more than likely dont need or deserve it. I find the HOW it happened more sketchy than the fact it did, we run a business based on donations--I obviously have no issue with people doing it...under the right circumstances and the right way. Nothing on reddit is the right way or the right advice :ROFLMAO:

Plus it always makes me think of those people 'dying in the hospital' on FB scams, at least we're providing something in return--just with the payment being optional because we enjoy it.

You're just platformist against Reddit. While I don't doubt there's all kinds of scams, a mobo with that color scheme, and a 1070, are pretty old, and not worth that much. Maybe the guy had a convincing post?

I'm kind of surprised we're having this discussion where I'm arguing for the bleeding heart side, while you're on the other side. That said, I wouldn't personally waste my time packing and sending something, but I can see why people would do it. It had a real impact on a real person.

Say you got $100 for that stuff, then donated to some charity. You would never see the result, and most of it would get eaten up in administration fees anyway. If you donated for some specific cause, you'd have no way of knowing where the money went, or even if it benefited that specific cause.

Which is why I donate to the people around me...a good portion of what was destroyed here was PC parts from and for repair jobs for other people--none would go in my rig, but when peoples PC couldnt be saved or they decided to just buy a new one they'd give me the parts or the PC and i'd pass it along to the next needy soul if they had a problem and didnt have the funds...this is why i'm broke  I've literally never asked someone to lay me for repairs, even programs I've made them because I always know them somehow from someone close. Its also why I bought my rig...I got sick of fixing better PCs than my own and it was payment to myself.

I'm not really hating on the idea as much as you seem to think, I'm basically depressed on a never ended basis that the world is full of people who WOULD bleeding heart someone for that kind of measly thing and sell it while usong their kids as a photo op to make it look good and even more people willing to do it.

Assholes and idiots...most of the world, and it blthers me to no end because I hate assholes, obviously the person who gave it to them isnt my fucking concern so I could care less at any rate even if I cared.

I have trouble believing good things happen to those who actually deserve it instead of some crook or scammer trying to make a buck while the good person was looked past and probably called a scammer.

Call it...personal experience  but its not personal or even important to me...I was just saying my piece--like always
