I've noticed some freebies disappear, why is that?

They are yours forever but some can no longer be downloaded, although they show up in the list still.

Any way you can add a feature to auto-remove dead links or no longer accessible games?...unless I'm just getting weird errors.

Nobody is complaining about free games (well, i wouldn't be surprised if they did), which is why I never mentioned this before.

If I didn't download them that was my own fault, but having them still listed is a bit annoying.

This is why i hate digital downlaods and game clients and prefer the old dvd installers, your's to keep forever they claim, until the company goes out of business or decides you can't play them anymore, at least indiegala and gog allow you to download the installers to burn to a dvd, still frustrating if you used the client to install the game and it goes off site and you didn't download it.

I'm old school myself, I would still hit a Gamestop if they still sold PC games...they don't even "claim" you own it anymore, they sell you a license to "play" the game, its not in any way shape or form actually yours.

So when that happens (which is why I dropped Playstation after PS3) they technically can just say too bad, so sad...I got to the point I don't even read the fine print anymore because physical copies don't exist unless your in another country.

They may have a clause in there for the user (doubtful lol) would allow you to play it even if they need to remove the client, but its pointless to even check since the only alternative are the sites you mentioned, and they can't sell certain games due to the fact. I still burn my Steam games to BD in case they get yanked down at some point.

What really gets me is the fact that only certain areas have this forced on them and others still sell the physical copies...Bandai even has a special site for Europe that blocks you, won't even let you ship games from it etc.

Sorry for the rant, this has grinded my gears since it started and I was simply forced to accept it with time lol.

It explains it all here About IndieGala Giveaways & Duplicate Steam Keys — IndieGala help & documentation portal 1.2 documentation

Basically there's Guaranteed and Non-Guaranteed giveaways and if it's a non Guaranteed they can't help you get a replacement or obligated to help if it is cancelled.

Additionally, if you get a dupe from the feudalife challenge (Got 1 last week) they are not providing replacements for those any more either.

I've very rarely seen a giveaway cancelled when clicking on one. They might already have an auto delete and the ones that are still there you have seen were recently
cancelled and haven't been pulled by the server yet. Either way its a minor nuisance, and maybe it's just IndieGala making us work a bit moreto get some freebies lol

I meant the "Showcase" games, probably posted this in the wrong section, still learning my way around heh. The actually Gala Free Games, not the giveaways. Those disappear after the time is up, thankfully.

My only complaint about the Giveaway section is that if you click on one (at least on mobile) to see the details, it sends you back to the very start of the list and resets your choice of level preference...making you go through the entire section again, even if you skip like three at a time its a serious pain. Me, being at level 0 atm makes it even worse lol.

I wouldn't recommend that dead links are removed automatically, unless this is optional. After all, I want to know what I've neglected to download. Apart from that, if I can't download something any more, that is indeed annoying.

Fair enough point there, maybe an option to hide them instead?

My reason for removing them was that it was annoying when you try and can't download them...but thats an even better alternative honestly.

Shut up so crappy products are only free

I certainly don't intend to entertain your troll...but isn't someone the ungrateful warmonger.

Ever heard the expression don't look a gift horse in the mouth?

Maybe you've heard this one...don't post horse dung where a bunch of people that actually like this site give things away as well?

I've got some good games from both the giveaways and the freebies...thats not even counting the mobile game freebies since I can't seem to play it on my phone.

Nothing I hate more than an ungrateful fool who insists on puking out their thoughts in a public place.

Go Away. Preferably very very far away...like uranus.

🤦‍♂️

There have been some pretty good titles among the freebies, like for example Leisure Suit Larry 1 & 2 and Figment.
I got Leisure Suit Magna Cum Lada (along with those), I loved getting back the original I played on DOS ages ago.

Some are aged or simple...but so is any new Pacman remake, tetris, etc...doesn't mean they are bad games because they aren't expensive or extreme graphics. I love some simple physics games myself, match 3, yada yada.

I bet nobody would complain if they threw up like Super Mario or Tomb Raider just because its a more widely known title.

The last enchantress was interesting for an adult game, even with the adult aspect aside.

My opinion is pretty simple, its absolutely free with no strings attached...thats a pretty terrible thing to complain about.

I see it as a sad attempt to get them to put more current or costly titles up for free...they don't need to give away anything and like half the site offers ways to get free games.

Your not going to find any other site that has so many options to gain for nothing but your time.

You should just be grateful...or at least have the decency to keep the trash talk to yourself. You have to join Humble to access a list of games somewhat similar.

Sorry, might have popped off a bit harsh there, but I can't understand what anyone could possibly be upset about for nothing.
