True, but it is 'breaking' the system. You could let your game idle without a program, that practically tricks steam into increased amount of time played. which is against the rules for many reasons...including the refund policy and selling cards.

I'm not steam, I just pay attention to what goes on in the coding and gaming world. When they made the "add to library" button it seemed like an attempt to remove the AddFreeLicense java code you can use right from the URL portion of your browser...part of the same code those programs are based on entirely.

I can't confirm this obviously, it was just a hunch from changes made to everything all at once...but I doubt they want those running, and IIRC it is against the TOS on the dev portion of Steam, I may be mistaken. Been awhile.
