Thymesia - 11.5 GB
I was expecting alot more from the previews...and I assume there will be when I get past the fucking intro
First off, theres a camera follow option...and it sucks arse, particularly during combat. This is one of those "lock on" games for sure.
After turning
off motion blur the graphics leveled themselves out and stopped feeling like I was moving in slow motion with a major lag...no issue, I always turn it off anyways--but what did annoy me is I turned it off before I quit the first time to get offline and it didn't save because I hadn't started a save game...along with the other options. I figure i'll be starting the title screen in 1080p.
I don't have half of my abilities yet and the game still doesn't feel lacking...I also got jumped by an enemy I didn't see
right after the first 'mini boss' (not really) and before the first save point.
I wasn't even through the fucking control tutorial yet!!! Great shit, this games gonna be interesting for sure
Your character looks like what Brandon Lee 'should' have looked like in the crow instead of Sting (vice-versa really), but still looks like he's fresh out of the circus.
Luckily the camera does follow behind him most of the time so you don't need to stare at that all the time lol...the story was minimal so far, but goes something along the lines of some great nation of alchemists had skills to deter a worldwide plague nobody else did and turn it into a cure...and you are the darkness that came of the light they were blessed with....for what purpose or why, they neglected to say (at least so far) and just dropped me on their doorstep to kill plague ridden villagers for some reason
I thought they were able to cure this shit?
Anyways...
You can use a claw skill (think God Eater or Code Vein, but it actually works because enemies are stunned before they die), you can also just insta kill them as well, but using the God Eater gives you a weapon that varies by what they were carrying while attacking you...which you use for a brutal one time attack based on the weapon type.
Its a little generic in that sense and does feel like a rip off, but its so much better at it that the other games could take a pointer from the copycat.
The camera may not follow well during battle, but that fucking claw barely misses...even if your not pointing at the enemy--you will be, and you have a good window to use it. I managed to pull it off while fighting another peon at the same time almost right after I learned (and was able) to use it.
I've only hit the first save point and I think its gonna be a good game as long as the enemy and move variety doesn't get old since I haven't seen much there yet. I wouldn't pay full price for it based on what I have played, but the Fanatical cost I don't think I'll be complaining about.
This one was worth it...and its rare for me to feel that way after just starting a game that cost me more than a buck or two.
You may get a better price down the road, but if you had any interest in this already like I did...I can say it wasn't a waste of money for what my ADHD opinions worth.
Time to Trek to Yomi...
