funny cause i just remembered some month ago that when i worked as freelancer for a web+design+creative agency we were asked by ubisoft to try a concept involving some pirates inspired stupid games...
i was bored working with the agency cause works was usually under crunch routine and never paid well so done the minimal effort into the job, and gaming was not a big thing for me at this time
obviously it was a test concept for the mini game in Black Flag, the most appreciate game from the AC franchise

I actually hated black flag...you spent most of the game drifting along on the ship or diving in the water from it and the rest running through asset flipped mini islands with a few real levels inbetween...even if you were big into gaming the entire mini game consisted of picking or upgrading ship types and staring at the battle. I'd be more ashamed if I actually enjoyed it

Don't enjoy it either...all I know is that its called gwent and they have barrels for in-game codes lmao.

I ended up in a paid group for Skull and Bones...under a legal NDA (cant speak of the product), it was worth the pay but I got to see that flop before it happened

I'm still laughing about the slogan they decided on...long live piracy

nice : i've registered to their playtest cause one of their studio is in my town...but first you have to fill a 30min survey......once you're registered each playtest will require you to answer the same boring questions as the registration survvey + some contextual questions depending on the game they want to playtest.....all of this for "eventually participate'.....i don't answer their emails anymore

You know who does actively seek beta testers?

Bandai, especially from the EU site, I signed up there and I get them all the time, no fuss involved. Sadly I usually miss them or the games I catch are terrible...like the latest DBZ: Multi

You don't get paid though, just get to play.

in my case you're supposed to do the playtest in the ubi building with snacks and fruit juice + interacting with ubi team ended with 50 bucks, but i can't stand this selection surveys....(can took 40min of your life...without being assured to be selectioned)

Thats why I never signed up for any of those...I was just a gamer with a Ubisoft Connect account under my real name (for debit purposes) and I figure it matched or I just lucked out by my selection of different interests...who knows.

Either way the game sucked, entire concept sucked because it was meant to be the pirate part of black flag without the main game...terrible idea heh. Least I got paid...and thats the first time I ever mentioned it in detail, figure i held up my end since the garbage is public now

now i remember my son playing odysee game, travelling through greek islands during 15min with the sound of the oarsmen? in effort and singing along...before that he played a lot Black Flag, and now has 100% achievment in the xbox version

I was at 99% (and this is why I HATE that game) and my save got wiped...its not that my save was lost though, it was the thought of sailing around the ocean boring for eternity a second time.

as a dad trying to connect with his childs i was ready to endure watching this......only one time...think we had some cloud save with the x360 (and probably got the game from xbox live gold sub)

There was one other TEENSY little problem I had with black flag...when I pre-ordered it for PS3 it came with a coupon to BUY it AGAIN for PS4

Last PS3 game I recall buying haha.
