I'm no King aka Nitrous but this is just my input on the matter. :)
3D Mark is a probably waste of money unless you a hardware reviewer or a professional overclocker, once you run it a few times you will uninstall it forget about.
I like to run this once in awhile personally and always keep it installed, but thats just me.
If you wish to check how your new PC is performing you can use:

Cinebench (to check your CPU)
Cinebench R23

Unigine Ssuperposition (to check your GPU)
UNIGINE Benchmarks

Both are free. :)

EXTRA:
Your CPU should score a bit over 2000 points in a single core test and 37 000 in multi core test if everything is performing as it should.

When running Unigine Ssuperposition choose the highest settings and set resolution to 720p to test you CPU's max framerate and set than resolution to your native or 4K to see what you graphics can achieve.
I would still suggest 3DMark over Superposition (even the demo)

I also suggest for a realistic benchmark using superposition that you set it to 1080 extreme rather than 4K as 4K tends to drag horribly even on top level cards (especially if you even attempt extreme)...I honestly think 3DMark does a pretty good job for a CPU test using Time Spy Extreme and a better job using Port Royale for a GPU test, Firestrike being the happy medium for an all around test....although Cinebench is preferred for a general CPU test (I honestly just crank up my cores with CPU-Z for my processor which came with my MSI software) and if I really want to dignose my GPU for issues alternatively I use GPU-Z for that...but both takes knowledge of the readings to understand them.

Either way I think you can get a realistic enough reading from 3DMark (theres also PCMark--but skip it) and I certainly don't suggest superposition as its went over my 100% voltage of my GPU and set off error alerts for one...and it gives you even less information for test results in general than 3DMark for another. Cinebench I got no arguments about honestly, but for GPU I still suggest 3DMark and for one all arounder its the best bet as well ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Superposition WAS good, its outdated now. Been years since an update.

In RETROs case I say leave it all well enough alone and if your rigs running games good...then your good. No more information needed.

3DMark is the best all around test for you GPU but I was just suggesting some free alternatives. That's all.

Timespy is great for non RTX GPU loads, Speedway for RTX loads. Firestrike for test high FPS loads were the CPU is more involved.

Use Superposition 720p to test how much bottleneck you have from CPU and RAM, 1080p extreme/4k for raw GPU performance. Superposition is the best one if you want a reliable score to compare your overclocks and/or undervolts. Compare RAM set at 4800Mhz versus the same running at 6000MHz and you will see a massive difference but only at 720p. Higher resolution are more GPU dependent.

Heaven is old nowadays, especially for 4000 series GPUs. To test unrealistic GPU max core temps use Furmark.

I certainly don't suggest superposition as its went over my 100%
That's because you allow it to in the MSI Afterburner or you have a factory overclocked card and than it's a perfectly normal behaviour. :)

You care too much about some meaningless voltages just let you GPU enjoy some extra juice when necessary. :D

Thats funny considering its Windows 10 and Directx 12 based which was after RTX wss a thing...I think you got your information from the wrong spot. Actually time spy is the most hated of all the 3DMark tests and everything except speedway (the only one i'm missing) can practically be run free anyways, the demo allows you to add the free DLC

So basically the paid version doesnt even do much except allow you to use the leaderboards and such...I ended up getting it for free somehow through a promotion ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
Speedway for RTX loloads.
Speedway is just a replacement for Time Spy Extreme because nobody liked it, what most people didnt realize was that time spy is a homage to all the previous tests if you watch the background scenes behind the main visuals ;)

Your reading too much and don't have a scrap of a clue from personal experience i'm guessing.

This is funny too because I have an extreme bottleneck between my CPU and GPU and it tells me exactly nothing about it...I dont even know where your getting this info
Oh...this. They don't even recommend downloading this anymore, from the creators it is suggested not to use it
That's because you allow it to in the MSI Afterburner or you have a factory overclocked card and than it's a perfectly normal behaviour.
No to both of the above...remember I had to RMA my card over a voltage spike, and i'm certainly not stupid enough to use MSI afterburner with an irreplaceable EVGA 3090 ftw 24gb GPU. But its MSI setting off the alarm that makes me notice :ROFLMAO:
You care too much about some meaningless voltages just let you GPU enjoy some extra juice when necessary
You are definitely unqualified for this conversation. Shoo now.

EDIT:

Every overclocker has their opinion in these situations...there is no absolute right or wrong, your not going to find this answer in articles--not the right answer anyways, because there isnt one...there is no standard for overclockers opinions, unlike general hardware and such where there is a definitive answer, overclocking is a big no no from the start, so your already in undefined territory the minute you tweak something.

I have under and over clocked my rig...by hand in the BIOS.

The way its really done.

Unfortunately there is no way for GPUs unless the software allows it except something like Afterburner.
