And when we're at whining...
I was a huge fan of ASUS, and their ROG Reward program killed my respect for them.
So, for starters, in theory, you can get ROG points for ASUS products you own. In theory... As you'll probably find, 9 out of 10 products are not eligible for those points.
OK, no big deal, right? So, some 18 months ago, I registered there. One of the first things you can do is fill in your Personal Info, and you'll get the points... Well, in theory - because I didn't get them.
And then you collect those points. Basically, the only sure way to collect them is daily login - for 1 point. There are some short vids or stuff that'll get you 5 points every month or so, and you can get 100 points on your birthday - I was shocked that actually works... Of course, sometimes you can't log in for weeks, because their sys admins don't feel like checking if the page is down or not. Or they have just a template page without anything aside from the ASUS title... You know, sort of like IG admins.
And then, there are Twitch streams, which made me quit ROG and fall out of love with ASUS. In those streams, you can get code which should give you 10 points. Should. No matter how many times I tried, I always got the "Invalid key" message..
A week ago, I decided to sort of experiment with ROG to see if it's because of my country or what. So, I changed my country, and I tried the key, but nope. Still the same error. I was disappointed and, some time later, I checked ROG again. There were some short vids and surveys, so I decided to collect some points, and then I saw - my point counter was at 20. I was confused. Wtf?! I had over 700 points!
I thought, "It couldn't be because I changed my country, right? I mean, I'm still the same person with same account, so what the fuck?"
So, I changed my country back and... My score went to 0 - AGAIN!
And when you know those points expire after some time, and the games - all good titles, btw. - cost 1500+ points - then you see it's pointless, no pun intended. Even those credit cards, every couple of months, are gone in a few minutes.
So, since last week, I'm done with ROG and ASUS forever.
