I'm finally awake!
Nope. Mass Genre. Just because it has pauses for choice does not make it an RPG J/RPG, S/RPG, Jack Diddley RPG or otherwise.
I think it's still an rpg, 'cause aside from those multiple choices there's still heavy emphasis on leveling up and controlling your party.
There's no such thing as "Mass genre", 'cause not many games tried to copy the way Mass Effect was done it's things.
FFX - FFXIII were designed with the intention to drag in female gamers...just a side comment on a real RPG
Why would one think that way about FFX-FFXIII? 'cause there's female protagonists? Why not FFVI than or even FFVII?
Or Horizon: Zero Dawn? Or the whole Lara Croft series? Also the "Aliens" movie series, 'cause there's emphasis on men being a dicks and the sole female heroing her way out of things all the time, also mother feelings in the sequel.
Also not the "real RPG", just jrpg.
Nothing is Unisex, not entirely...just depends on whos playing it in reality.
what do you mean "entirely unisex"? it's either girls' game, boys' game OR unisex game and the Sims was the last one obviously.
nah, SNK sucks ass as of lately, their latest games (aside from
Metal Slug) looks meh to put it mildly, so there wasn't anything to fix in my statement.

The fact is CAPCOM almost singlehandedly created the genre or at least the craze around it (
Street Fighter II) and
made quite a few great fighting game series while the most companies just tried to stick to only one fighting series or even one fighting game in their library.
Also the fact, that NAMCO are showing (at least right now, 'cause at the day they was merely answering to SEGA's Virtua Fighter) how good fighting game can feel itself in 3D in terms of both graphics and gameplay.
And last but OBVIOUSLY NOT the LEAST FACT is that Arc System Work created the MOST BALANCED FIGHTING GAME EVER WALKING THE EARTH'S SURFACE,
Guilty Gear XX #Reload: Midnight Carnival.
LOL, I was actually kinda half-hoping you'd get this one, back when I saw RETRO's profile post preview.
well, it was very kind of you, I'd say)
Well,
almost half!
maybe, a quarter-hoping than?

What's the English translation? I'm not sure how to interpret Google Translate's take.
I don't think that there's an english equivalent to this idiom, but it's literally about one soldier took over the other one's duty at post.
@whatnitrus is a girl.
Well, THAT would hilarious for sure!..
