Both games have the best Middle Earth feeling, but Tolkien purists don't like some of the main ideas and motivations of the game hero - enslaving the Orcs by the main protagonist is in direct collision with Tolkien's view of pure good and pure evil.

I think you missing the point.
It's not about being emotinal.
The point is Putin's trying to built his perfect world with, in his words, no one-polarity (meaning Western countries) and where's USSR is together again in one way or another. And you know, phrases like "мы умрём и попадём а рай, а вы просто сдохнете" should mean something.

Well worth playing. Shadow of Mordor & Shadow of War were highly influenced both by the look of the Peter Jackson trilogy and by famous Tolkien art. They're set in the time between the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings, and are kind of a "what if/elseworlds" story. They were both previously given for free in Amazon Prime's game offerings - I don't know if anyone still has working free keys remaining.
