Once upon a time in a penny arcade...

Kids are the favourite protagonists for both comedies and horrors - that should tell you something. To me, that means that in every little angel, there is possibly a sleeping Damien. I hope everybody watched Omen?

But kids and arcades are like bread and butter, right? Well, I'm not talking about those kids on the verge of teen years. No, the real problem is in all those 7 or 8-year-olds. They would only come to arcades with their parents or older siblings, but the results would always be hilarious or nightmarish. Or both - at least to us, older kids or teens.

The younger brother of my friend wanted for his 8 birthday to go to the arcade. So, the whole family, including the birthday boy, his older sister and his brother went to the penny arcade. Parents decided to spend their time at the table with coffee and drinks but, first, they bought tokens for a kid and decided to show him how he should drop the token into the arcade machine.
-What game do you want to play? - asked the mother.
-The big bro's game! Moaner! - and the kid pulled his mother toward the game he saw his big brother play a few weeks ago.
My friend said he felt like someone cut his legs. He couldn't move but he was forced to move. He knew which game his little brother was talking about.

They stopped in front of a strip poker game. My friend said he wasn't sure who was redder in their face, he or his mother. Only the kid was unphased and keep asking to play the "Moaner".

Since it's Sunday, this will be a double feature.

I just started dating one girl. We were together for maybe a month or so. We wanted to hang out for a weekend but she was babysitting her brother and a couple of cousins. That was a common practice for many high school girls to earn some pocket money. She said she'll bring the kids to the arcade.

I get to the arcade and saw her and a couple of her girlfriends sitting at the table, drinking juices and sodas. I said hi and then I saw a large group of kids on the other side of the room gathered around Dream Soccer or some bootleg version of that game. She said they (she and her friends) bought some tokens for the kids so they could relax and chit-chat. Her little brother was, apparently, really fond of that game.

I said I want to meet her brother and so I went to the little ones. And... It was like I'm among mafia members. That little kid just beat another one of the kids and the loser tossed a bubble gum into a plastic bag that was held by a little girl, one of the cousins of the boy. In the bag were chewing gums, PEZ candy, chocolate bars, pencils...
-Hey, mister, do you wanna play against me? - asked the boy.
-I don't have any candy. - I replied.
-You can buy ice cream for me and my cousins - he pointed at the girl and the boy next to her.
-OK, but what will I get if I win?
-Yeah, like you could! - laughed little demon and all others in his miniature "Children of the Corn" gang.
-OK, see at that table? - he pointed where his sister and her friends were -That's my sister. She's always on the phone or banning me to do what I want. You can take her home if you win.
-Hey, that's not nice! I like my cousin! She's always nice to me! - little girl protested.

Her brother and the little gambler just looked at her like they wanted to say with contempt "Girls!".

I accepted. I wasn't great at that game but I was a decent player and I knew he must feel some soreness in his hands after playing with several kids already, not to mention he'll probably underestimate me.

He scored an early goal but I was just sort of defending. I was waiting for the second half. I equalized almost immediately and then we fought almost to the end of the game but I scored the second goal.

He was pale.

-Hey, you know, I can't go home without my sis. My parents would kill me. Would you play another game? You can get my aunt if you beat me.
-Leave our mum alone! Play for your mum! -now his other cousin, the boy, cried out.
-No, I'm okay with my prize. - I said and called all three of them to follow me.

As soon as we got to the table, I said to my girlfriend:
-Hey, miss, you're coming with me. Your brother just lost you on soccer.

Well, we all went to the ice cream shop and we explained to the kids that we were together and everything was just a joke. We spent a nice afternoon, all five of us - only my wallet didn't feel happy with this - but the kid was looking at me suspiciously that whole time, probably not believing me that I won't snatch his sister.

Hi ilovefreegames, I know the following was not requested, but take it as a suggestion:

If you want to join this Community I would suggest the following:

1. Don't rush things (I imagine you are young and that's why you want everything immediately), first take the time to get to know people to know how to interact with each one, enjoy the process and you will see that you will get attached to many people here.
2. Participate in the Feudalife Challenges and Giveaways, there you can win your first free games and if you win a repeat one you can give it to other people, in this way you will see how the "karma" will come into effect and other people will start giving you other games.

When you enter an already formed Community, you have to take the time to get to know how it works and adapt to it, because if you try to impose your style and your needs you will most likely receive rejection.

So my suggestion is that you relax, have a good time with others and then with a reputation formed the games will be the natural result of the good relationships you have built.

If this seems like a lot of effort for you, I'm sorry, because it's going to be very difficult for you to build nice relationships here.

Vinka Zec is a person who has earned the respect and affection of many of us here, but unfortunately there have been cases in which has been treated in a very toxic ways, so I think the best thing to do is to respect Vinka Zec decision not to be bothered.
