I'm surprised they live in yours tbh, first time I ever seen or heard of one myself.
Unfortunately yes, I had to bomb to kill a colony of ants and then those fuckers crawled out of the woodwork in different random ass places.
This is whats been keeping me busy lately, trying to prevent the ants from marching back in...my 'new' apartment...considering they were right next to my bed and PC, I had to rearrange the entire place to seal all the holes after i bombed, the struggle is real
To win at their game, you have to know how ants think. They eat sugar and oil, but the sugar must have water content, if you spill pure powered sugar, they wont take it. If you dissolve sugar into hot water and let it cool, then soak it up with a sponge they'll drink from the sponge, it must have some level of moisture, so they'll eat things like jelly and peanut butter, but for different reasons (jelly because of sugar & water, peanut butter because of peanut oil). I'm not an expert, but I think what different types of ants will eat makes all the difference (some eat sugar-water, some eat oil, maybe some eat both) needless to say, cut off their food supply, open up your peanut butter jars and check if they're thriving inside a jar you haven't opened in weeks, anything in your fridge should be safe (too cold in there) cabinets with sugary/oily things are fair game. Also, they leave scent trails to let the others know that food can be found if they follow the scent trails, it's up to you to keep cleaning the scent trail with soapy water. You can also buy some ant spray (it's toxic though, be sure to clean up afterwards, especially if you have pets).
I've had ants get into a bag of pistachios once (because nuts are oily, especially my nuts)

I also had a bag of Honey Bunches of Oats (with almonds) that they got into, I think it was because of the almonds (oily)
Needless to say, keep a close eye on your nuts, and keep your junk clean.
