I was laughing at how you want us all to believe that Russia is safe, especially for Americans to come visit (we can easily be arrested and turned into political hostages like Britney Griner) she throws basketballs into little hoops and likes weed, but to get her back, America gave up Viktor Bout who was convicted of conspiring to kill Americans, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He has a cute little nickname too "The Merchant of Death".
It's really funny that they exchanged a lesbian drug addict for such a cool guy "Gun Baron". A little bit about both of them:

One of the best basketball players of the present time, Britney Griner, recently pleaded guilty to drug smuggling (hashish). However, she said that she did it unintentionally — she was just going in a hurry. The Griner case was followed very closely in the USA, and now they are thinking: why do American basketball players go to Russia to earn extra money at all and why they are paid so little at home.
American basketball player Brittney Griner, who plays in the WNBA for the Phoenix Mercury, was detained in Moscow for drug smuggling back in February this year. The other day, Griner admitted her guilt in the Khimki court, but explained that she was going in a hurry and did not check the contents of the bag. The trial will continue, but in the meantime, in the United States, they thought: what the hell are our basketball players doing in Russia at all? This publication was made by Fortune magazine.
Brittney Griner played in the offseason for UMMC for many years in a row. Almost half of the WNBA players go to work in Russian clubs, since the calendars of the two leagues do not coincide. And this is a great opportunity to replenish your budget, because the salary for basketball stars in the Russian women's Premier League is incomparably higher than in the women's NBA. The best American basketball players go to earn extra money not only to Russia, but also to other European countries, as well as to China. The same Griner played for Zhejiang Far East and Beijing Great Wall for several years before signing with UMMC in 2015.
For example, this year 70 players left the WNBA abroad in the offseason, and this is almost half of the 144 basketball players in the league. The biggest landing in Europe and China happened in the 2017-2018 off-season, when 89 girls left the house.
It's all about the lack of money she earns in the WNBA, explains Griner's wife Cheryl Watson. "She wouldn't want to go abroad," Cheryl told ABC News at the end of May this year. "She's only had one Thanksgiving at home in nine years, and she misses it. But she can't make enough money in the WNBA to make a decent living."
Nneka Ogwumike, the head of the WNBA Players Association, who herself played for Dynamo Kursk for several years, also confirmed that the Americans are going for a "long dollar". At UMMC, Griner could earn $ 1 million a year, despite the fact that at Mercury her salary is only $ 221,450. And she is one of the highest paid players in the league.
The average salary in the WNBA this season is $120,600, and the maximum is $228,000. At the same time, Fortune points to the difference in payments with the men's NBA, where the average salary is about 7 million.
The gender pay gap in US basketball leagues is the largest in the world, and according to a study money.co.uk it is 8,567.4%. The only problem is that the WNBA does not earn nearly as much as the NBA, and in general is a loss-making enterprise.
The women's season is much shorter: 36 games compared to 82 in the NBA. And as NBA Commissioner Adam Silver says, this year the league plans to generate revenue of $ 10 billion, while the WNBA brings in only $60 million annually, and the costs exceed this amount altogether. For all the years of its existence (and the league was founded in 1996), the WNBA loses an average of $ 10 million per season.
However, WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert rejected the theory that playing abroad is purely a solution to financial problems. She believes that basketball players have many ways to earn extra. Top players like Brittney Griner, for example, receive sponsorship income that is rarely less than a million dollars. It's just that a short season doesn't give them the opportunity to have a lot of game practice, that's why they're leaving.
However, in the United States, they wonder why Russian women's basketball has such high salaries, if the attendance of matches is far from ideal, and tickets are very cheap. Admittedly, the popularity of women's basketball is really not that great in our country, although the stubborn final of this year, when Dynamo Kursk beat UMMC for the first time, still attracted the attention of the audience.
Meanwhile, American fans did not feel the "need" of their basketball players. The comments on the Reddit website are dominated by questions: is 221 thousand a year not enough?! Griner recalled how she refused to stand on the court in the summer of 2020 during the performance of the US national anthem. Then, we recall, there was just another wave of anti-racist sentiments in America. "And now she is asking the country for help?" users ask.
First, Griner's wife Cheryl turned to US President Joe Biden for help, so that he would contribute to her return home. And then Brittney herself wrote a letter for help.

"One of the most dangerous people on Earth" Viktor Bout has returned to Russia after 14 years in prison in the United States. Why is the West afraid of him?
Viktor Bout, convicted in the United States on charges of attempting to illegally trade weapons and support terrorism, has returned to Russia. On December 8 of this year, he was traded to Abu Dhabi for American basketball player Brittney Griner. Moscow has been seeking this exchange for more than one year — Booth spent 14 long years in the Marion prison in Illinois. American intelligence agencies called him one of the largest illegal arms dealers in the world, Booth even became the prototype of the main character in the famous Hollywood movie "The Gun Baron". However, he categorically refused to admit his guilt. The story of Viktor Bout and his difficult relationship with American justice was remembered by.
"In my opinion, Viktor Bout is one of the most dangerous people on Earth. He's a shadow broker. He is arming not only terrorist groups and rebel groups, but also very influential drug cartels around the world. In Africa, he turned young fighters into insidious, thoughtless, maniacally obsessed killing machines that operated with the productivity of a conveyor belt" (former chief of operations of the US Drug Enforcement Administration Mike Bron).
Victor Booth was born on January 13, 1967. He called the place of his birth Ashgabat — the capital of the Turkmen SSR, then Dushanbe — the capital of the Tajik SSR, where he spent his childhood and youth. After serving in the army, in the summer of 1987 he entered the Military Institute of Foreign Languages at the Portuguese Language Department.
Having received a specialty and the rank of second lieutenant, Booth went to serve as an interpreter in Mozambique and Angola as part of the United Nations (UN) contingent. In 1990, after accelerated Chinese language courses, Senior Lieutenant Booth, who had not yet graduated from the institute, left the army and began working in the Union of United Cooperatives of the USSR.
There he was a translator at the center for the organization of air transportation, worked in Brazil and Mozambique. Booth claimed that he had never served in the KGB or GRU, although the intelligence agencies of South Africa and Great Britain claimed that in 1985-1989 he was an agent of the Soviet special services.
At the end of 1991, Booth decided to start his own business and became an aviation broker. In 1993, he moved to the UAE and made Sharjah Airport the base for his airline. Booth said that his planes carried flowers, household equipment and legitimate military cargo.
In particular, in 1994, on his planes, the French military contingent was transferred to Angola, and the Belgian one to Somalia. In 1996, his company delivered Russian fighter jets to Malaysia. In the 90s, the planes belonging to Booth also participated in the transfer of UN peacekeepers to Somalia and East Timor. In 1994, they delivered humanitarian aid and a French contingent to Rwanda. At the same time, the pilots who worked for Booth refused to say whether they carried weapons, they only admitted that the cargo was usually in boarded-up boxes.
Trapped by the militants
In the early 90s, Booth became the founder of the Transavia company registered in Kazan (according to other sources, he collaborated with the Belarusian company Transavia Export Cargo). In addition, his company IRBIS was registered in Alma-Ata.
And in 1995, for the first time, they started talking about Bout's possible links with the arms trade
On August 3, 1995, in the Afghan city of Kandahar, militants of the Taliban movement (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) with the help of their MiG-21 fighter jet landed and seized a Russian Il-76 aircraft belonging to the Kazan Aerostan company.
British intelligence MI6 believed that then, perhaps, Bout also supplied the Taliban with weapons worth 30-50 million dollars. He was also suspected of having links with Al-Qaeda (a terrorist organization banned in Russia).
Meanwhile, in 1995-1997 Booth worked in Belgium, and in 1997 he went into business in South Africa. He bought an abandoned airfield there and began transporting frozen chickens to the republic from Europe. His South African airline was named Air Pass at the end of 1997: according to media reports, Booth owned from 43 to 60 aircraft, mostly of the An brand.
Booth worked in South Africa until 1998, when the authorities revoked his air transportation license. He believed that this was done under pressure from the United States.
And in 2000, the UN Security Council asked a group of experts to prepare a report on compliance with the international embargo regime against Angola, where a civil war had been going on for about 30 years.
Experts concluded that the rebels of the National Union for the Complete Independence of Angola continued to receive weapons from Bulgaria and Romania, bypassing the embargo
At the same time, according to the expert opinion, this weapon was allegedly supplied by Bout. In the same year 2000, similar reports accused Bout of supplying weapons to rebels from Sierra Leone and Liberia. In the West, he became known as the owner of the world's largest network for the illegal sale of weapons.
Thai binding
In 2001, Bout was forced to leave the UAE, and in 2002 Belgium accused him of smuggling diamonds and laundering about $ 300 million in 1994-2001. After that, the businessman was put on the international wanted list.
According to the entrepreneur's wife Alla, Booth finally went bankrupt in 2002, after which he lived openly in Russia, tried not to travel abroad and was not engaged in the aviation business.
In 2002, the UN imposed a ban on the movement of Bout, and in 2005, together with the United States, demanded that the accounts of the Russian businessman and all individuals and legal entities associated with him be frozen.
Booth claimed that he lost about $17 million as a result of the UN sanctions, and categorically denied all accusations of arms trafficking and its illegal supply bypassing the embargo. The businessman claimed that he had never been in contact with the Taliban and Al-Qaeda, and the United States, according to Booth, simply decided to shift the blame for arming the Taliban onto him.
However, when asked whether his planes transported weapons, Booth answered evasively — he stated that he had never committed and could not commit illegal transportation. And on March 6, 2008, Booth was unexpectedly arrested in Bangkok on a warrant issued in the United States.
He was detained by the US Drug Enforcement Administration, posing as militants of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), who allegedly intended to purchase surface—to-air missiles from Bout. The American side immediately announced that it would seek Bout's extradition.
According to Alla Bout, who asked for help from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, her husband came to Thailand to negotiate the construction of a plant for the production of disposable syringes for African countries. Meanwhile, the Thai authorities refused to charge Booth, but the US was very serious.

American Justice
On May 6, 2008, the US authorities officially filed charges against Bout and sent a request for his extradition to Thailand. In August 2009, the Bangkok Criminal Court, having considered this request, did not find sufficient grounds for the extradition of the Russian businessman.
At the same time, in September of the same year, after filing an appeal, the Bangkok Criminal Court refused to release Booth on bail, fearing that he would try to escape justice and leave Thailand. And on August 20, 2010, the Thai Court of Appeal overturned last year's decision of the court of first instance and agreed to the extradition of Booth to the United States.
The court emphasized that this decision is not subject to appeal
In November of the same year, the Cabinet of Ministers of Thailand reviewed and confirmed the US request for Bout's extradition, after which he was taken to the States. A year later, on October 12, 2011, the first court hearing in the Booth case was held in the United States.
On November 2 of the same year, the jury found him guilty of all charges, and on April 5, 2012, Booth was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Initially, the convict was planned to be sent to the maximum security prison "Florence" (most of the prisoners there sit in solitary cells), located in Colorado.
However, the Russian's lawyers asked the prosecutor's office to choose a general regime prison located closer to New York so that the prisoner could be visited by employees of the Russian consulate and relatives
According to an agreement reached during negotiations between the prosecutor's office, the court and Booth's defense, he was sent to serve time in Marion Prison (Illinois). This correctional institution has been assigned the third level of rigidity according to the five-point system adopted in the USA.
Zone testing
In 2014, Alla Booth told about the conditions under which her husband served his sentence in the United States. According to Alla, in order not to go crazy, he listened to old Soviet songs.
There are songs written by Alexandra Pakhmutova, Mikael Tariverdiev and other Russian composers on the American prison Internet server, up to songs like "My address is the Soviet Union"
Alla Booth
According to his wife, Viktor Bout started every morning in Marion prison with yoga classes, since active and team sports are prohibited in the special unit. During the day he studied foreign languages, wrote letters to his family and read, and listened to music in the evening.
As Alla Booth noted, her husband's special difficulties were caused by the food system in prison. The fact is that for lunch and dinner prisoners there were usually given hamburgers and hot dogs, but Booth is a vegetarian, he could not eat it. To take care of his health, he grew kombucha in his cell.
Booth grew this mushroom not only for himself, he treated cellmates and even guards with it.
Victor spent a lot of effort and time growing a kombucha from spilled tea in the cell. The prison administration, having learned about the kombucha, arranged a check and found a minuscule proportion of alcohol in the drink
Alla Booth
, because of the kombucha, the management of the Marion prison accused Booth of producing alcohol. In the summer of 2017, his lawyer Alexey Tarasov said that for this, the prisoner was deprived of the indulgences earned for good behavior and added to his 25-year prison term of more than 40 days.

Salvation by yoga
In August of the same 2017, another penalty was imposed on Viktor Bout: they added 15 days to the term for a telephone conversation with an RT journalist and deprived him of phone calls for two months.
For talking to a person whose name was not on the list of allowed contacts, he was punished with a two-month ban on phone calls and purchases in the prison store, and 15 days of early release awarded for good behavior were canceled
Alla Booth
Six months later, in January 2018, Booth fell ill with the flu in a severe form, and he brought down the temperature not with medications, which simply did not exist, but with special yoga exercises.
He had a high fever, which he managed to bring down only with special exercises from a yoga course. There is no doctor at all in the Marion prison, where he is located. The prison store sells only panadol in tablets
Alla Booth
As his wife told him, after Victor brought down his temperature, he began to cough violently and his voice sat down. "He couldn't even call home because the phones in prison work on voice recognition, and the device simply didn't recognize him for several days," she explained.
In September 2019, Alla Booth said that she and her husband were allowed their first date in seven years. Meanwhile, all these years, there has been talk that Viktor Bout could be exchanged for one of the Americans convicted in Russia. And in 2022, these conversations finally found concrete features.
Exchange time
On February 17, 2022, American basketball player Brittney Griner was detained at Sheremetyevo airport in the capital. Several VIPs with banned cannabis oil were found in the athlete's luggage. She was accused of drug smuggling and sent to a pre-trial detention center on March 5.
The American has been performing in Russia since 2015, defending the colors of the basketball club of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) from Yekaterinburg. Griner has twice won Olympic gold with the U.S. national team. The case of Britney Griner caused a huge public outcry in the States: many stood up for the athlete, even US President Joe Biden supported her, passing a letter through diplomats.
On August 4, the Khimki court found Griner guilty of drug smuggling and sentenced her to nine years in prison in a general regime colony. However, even before the verdict, on July 27, the US presidential administration offered Russia an exchange: the States expressed their readiness to extradite Viktor Bout.
But the American side in return wanted to get not only Brittney Griner, but also Paul Whelan, convicted in Russia for espionage
Maria Butina, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, criticized Washington's initiative and said that the issue needed to be finalized. Any exchanges should take place on equal terms for both sides, the deputy noted, therefore, if Paul Whelan, convicted of espionage, and Brittney Griner, accused of drug smuggling, return to the United States, Washington should transfer two prisoners to Moscow, Butina said.
The exchange offered to date by the American side is unfair and unequal
Maria Butina
State Duma Deputy
Apparently, over the following months, the parties conducted intense negotiations related to the upcoming exchange of prisoners. The whole world learned about their results on December 8, when the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Viktor Bout had returned to his homeland after being exchanged for Brittney Griner.
The Foreign Ministry reported that the exchange of Bout for a Griner took place at the Abu Dhabi airport. According to Ivan Melnikov, vice-president of the Russian division of the International Committee for the Protection of Human Rights, both prisoners were pardoned before the exchange.
Fear and hatred in the Pentagon
Negotiations on the exchange of Victor Booth for Brittney Griner, who can safely be called the main one in 2022, were conducted at the highest level. The Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Tatiana Moskalkova, said that the main merit in the success of the negotiation process belongs to the Russian special services. In addition, she thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian Foreign Ministry and Minister Sergey Lavrov personally.
Now Viktor Bout needs to undergo a good medical examination and catch his breath after what he experienced in prison
Tatiana Moskalkova
Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia
The American TV channel CNN, in turn, noted that the final consent to the exchange of prisoners was given by US President Joe Biden. According to the sources of the publication, the American leader was "personally involved" in the exchange procedure and held regular meetings with the team of negotiators.
However, in the USA, not everyone appreciated the extradition of Viktor Bout. Former Donald Trump adviser John Bolton called this exchange "not a deal, but America's surrender."
Donald Trump also called the deal to exchange Booth for Griner stupid and one-sided, outraged that Paul Whelan did not participate in the exchange. And senior Pentagon officials expressed concern that Viktor Bout could return to arms trafficking in hot spots around the world.
We are afraid that Booth will return to the work he did earlier. Every Africanist of the US State Department who worked with the fruits of Booth's activities in Africa probably experienced disappointment because of his release
An anonymous Pentagon official in an interview with Politico magazine
The Pentagon representative also noted that in this case, Washington is ready to tell its allies and partners about the consequences of business contacts with Viktor Bout related to illegal arms trafficking.
Flying over Manchester
While American officials are worried about the future of Viktor Bout, he himself is getting used to life in freedom and has already managed to tell a little about what happened to him overseas. In particular, the Russian businessman spoke about the trial of him in the United States.
Even the judge said at the hearing: "I'm sorry, I didn't see at this trial what you are accusing Viktor of. He's a normal businessman. Many businessmen do the same. He didn't do anything illegal"
Victor Booth
As for the term in an American prison, then, according to Booth, he did not encounter Russophobia there, and isolation was the most difficult for him.
I have not met with Russophobia. Basically, all my fellow prisoners were set up with some kind of sympathy for Russia. (...) The most difficult thing is the inability to communicate with loved ones for a long time. One call per month
Victor Booth
In the footage of the video published by the Federal Security Service of Russia, Booth said that before the exchange for Brittney Griner, he was taken from his cell with all his belongings, after which he flew for seven hours to Manchester, where the plane was refueled for about an hour, and for another seven hours to Abu Dhabi.
As for future plans, according to Booth, he would like to get a good night's sleep first. At the same time, the businessman assured that he feels happy to be back in Russia.

Use the "Play Game" button and it should ask you to open your Steam client and get the game that way.
OR
Use the "Add to Library" button on the game's store page when opened in the Steam Client.

how...sorry didn't notice this, what a strange school with any student able to translate from french to english...maybe a lack of time
yeah, kinda strange, but...on the other hand I've seen some post about the gameplay in russian even though there's no russian language in-game either, so it's either that person knew french or not every info pops up on the Steam page of the game (which is weird and counter-intuitive imho).

yeah, the browser way isn't working for me for like a week or so, so I'm just using 'play game' option then on the instal screen choose 'no' and refresh the game's page in the browser and whoala))🤩💡
But I think it's
a) obvious
b) still not good that browser version of Steam not working properly
"There was a problem adding this product to your account. Please try again later."
Yeah, this one👆
I'm in a serious debate over this one...really does feel more like I'm watching a movie with petty combat inbetween, I've been "kicking" the enemies to death half the time because my blasters keep running out of juice.

I get the feeling any real combat will be ridiculous and I really will just be calling out orders to my teammates most of the game.

Anyone here played this far enough to give me an opinion on general gameplay further into the game?

Well, as far as I concerned/heared, that's the whole of the game - it's not just another action game, it's tactical teamplay singleplayer action game:unsure:🤷‍♂️
ff crisis core is my fav psp game and only ff that i like, even if u use an emulator u should try it
emmm...how many FF games you've played?
for the sake of reasoning, I've not played every FF game to date✋🤚
So I'm not a FF purist, I'm just curious ^, ^
What about the mutiny that happened almost resulting in Russians killing Russians?
You know, the one where Yevgeny Prigozhin and a bunch of tanks came real close to Moscow and then he called it off?
I'm actually curious what you think about Yevgeny Prigozhin, Putin supposedly put out a hit on him.
Some people think he's already dead:

Wagner boss Prizgozhin likely dead, Putin meeting may have been staged
Damn it, it would be so f*cked up if it's true...😢
The suspect admitted his guilt and claims that he received a task from the Ukrainian special services.
Yeah, and we all know that governments just couldn't lie to ppl and there're no ways to get someone to admit the guilt even if you didn't do anything.
Just saying...
