7950X3D is made of two 8 core chiplets and only one has 3D Cache glued on top.

Non 3D part of the that 16 core CPU is disabled when gaming so it's not going to last any longer than your average 8 core 3D Cache Ryzen.

Besi is right about only two Nocutas being adequate in cooling that beast of a CPU.

Yep!! Only 8 cores get 3D cache other 8 prioritise frequency (run a bit faster but no extra cache). It's similar to little-big core Intel's architecture.

Than Xbox game bar detects games running and parks 8 core chiplet without the 3D cache. But you get 16 cores for all your windows apps. :)

It's not a scam but for gaming 8 core is enough and you don't need anything more than that. (7700/7700x/7800X3D/9700X and 9800X3D all good choices in my opinion)

Scam lol.

I don't deal with AMD, intended it for a second rig I could never afford...so truth be told I wasnt aware, but it ruins the future proofing of those extremely expensive chips.

I'd wait for a threadripper with the cache personally.

Of course i'm the psychopath who would actually spend the money on a 128 core processor

Exactly, just get what you need now and forget future proofing because by the time RTX 7090 is out all current CPUs will be too slow for it anyway.

Besides these days I'm mostly watching movies on my computer. ;)

I got this comic from my friend yesterday. :ROFLMAO:
