An attack that will disappear in a few days.

It is still annoying that companies change their TOS, add DRM in updates, delete their games, censor their products in updates, and add launchers in updates. I created myself a curator just to keep up with the latter three. They piss me off the most.
I don't disagree at all, don't get me wrong...but to call it spyware and review every game they've ever made with that in mind is a bit harsh...I guess I take it even worse now as a legit game dev myself, especially knowing there are some trolls who will do anything to make something look worse than it is for almost zero reason.

If an AV actually nabbed it as verified spyware or you had proof it was...that'd be entirely different, but going by TOS which are basically their legal 'you cant sue us for this' that may just be worded piss poorly or over the top to be safe, or over a launcher being added even....as much as it might piss you off, just seems a bit much.

In the case of borderlands its not gonna matter, the series has its fans and always will...its a much bigger deal for new games and smaller companies than a series of that sort. It's well known enough to have a player base already, hell its probably past its high point already lol

They were too lazy to keep the 2K Launcher in the games they shoved it in so I doubt they are going to put much effort into spying on people with Borderlands 2. Borderlands 4 and Grand Theft Auto 5-6 will be more interesting. A EULA isn't spyware.

Quality of Life Update added: Quality of Life Update :: BioShock Infinite Events & Announcements
Then removed: 2K Launcher Removal :: BioShock Infinite Events & Announcements

I don't do negative or positive reviews. I try to ignore products but AAA companies can penetrate my ignores on Steam. It annoys me so much. I figure Steam gets paid off to shove their crap on everyone. I use my curator to remind me why I have them ignored.

Endless Alice - 6.74GB

This game wasn't my cup of tea...ngl, and the Endless part of the title should have told me as much but I insisted on trying it anyways.

For the type of game it is...its not bad, definitely not for me, but not bad.

The optimization of it though using Unreal was terrible...Stellar Blade literally doesn't overheat my GPU like this did, I turned around after dying the first time and my GPU was so hot I could smell it cooking through the tempered glass case while running it on Ultramax (or close). So if your going to play this game I suggest lower settings for sure.

Another thing was I was relying on was melee fighters to take away the shooter based aspect of the game...don't, it doesnt.

Even using a stealth based Katana weilder you have a reticle and nearly impossible to reach aerial enemies, honestly the only aspect more poorly optimized than the graphics (which in truth may be unreal and not their fault) is the concept of the melee fighters being a good fit for some of the enemies and stages that clearly require long distance...that is their fault and slightly deceptive to the nature of the game, I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't for the melee characters and have no interest in playing it because they suck

Compared to some games I've seen like it they honeatly did pretty good (aside from melting my GPU lmao) so if you like these kind of endless repeats its worth checking out being real...my opinion is entirely biased since the melee characters ruined it for me entirely compared to what I expected.

EDIT:

i'm probably more upset since it was 7GB of wasted data

Vengeance Of Mr. Peppermint - 1GB

Now this game was pretty fun, a little unbalanced combat wise...but fun nonetheless...and no big performance surprises either.

You can brutalize people after a grab attack, hang them from meat hooks, etc.

Its the Karate Kid for NES with an MK blood code and more combos

Note: Do this quickly (before they fix it) as they have not specified the minutes needed for the idle task, and the tasks can be done quickly and key gotten instantly.(y)

Stellar Blade is actually hard, even on story difficulty...but I could see myself digging this game if it wasnt just a demo I was playing (always feels pointless to me), in reality though...for all the hype it got for being sleazy it seems like a pretty good game once you got some decent upgrades and skills.

Hard maybe, depending how good you get at perfect parries and dodging, but good nonetheless.

This game actually gets the ADHD seal of approval, and oddly reminds me of Nier even down to the music...as well as one other game I can't quite put my finger on atm (another square title)? Lightning Returns, that was it

I ran my data into the mud to test my connection, and my phone company is brutal...its not even data after that, its like a 56k phone connection :ROFLMAO: in todays internet thats not even worth it, I couldn't even get a mobile idler to load for god sake on PC.

i did learn that anyone using mobile data on Windows wants to turn on the WLAN service so Windows itself realizes your using mobile and stops letting every app and its cousin waste your data all day, including windows update lol.

I hate Take Two (2K/Rockstar/Private Division/Gearbox) and whatever else it calls itself. I refuse to buy anything more from them. They stuck launchers in their games (called it a Quality of Life update), then removed them for now, and sell old abandoned Linux/Apple ports of Borderlands 2. They only updated the Windows port, making crossplay between them incompatible. When they did their Quality of Life update it broke Bioshock Infinite on Linux for months until they came around to fix it. I don't like Square Enix either but I may give them money someday for Final Fantasy Tactics and Xenogears (if they port it to Steam).
Yeah, launchers suck.

I don't give a fuck about all these TOS and other shit. They can find out where I live, come kiss my ass, just let me play a good game if I need it. On the Internet, every second son of James Bond and is offended by all sorts of shit. You provide your data wherever you can in RL, but too shy to do it online. The cringe moment
It's way too much. There are tons of things you use in real life that don't collect so much information

Its a good idea...i'm sure they'll learn a lesson  because it worked out so well last time.

The thing is there are much worse (like Facebook) that tracks even the shit on gala that comes from like elloco's twitter posts thinking I actually visited the pages myself.

Now thats creepy.

The only thing in there that would bother me is if they recorded my steam username and password and its not in the game for their service, maybe my IP address if its not needed for multiplayer and age and gender because thats just not relevant to the game except being 18+. The rest is normal debugging info. This feels more like an attack than an actual issue.
Yeah, I don't know any company to collects so much information and sells it, even the audacity to take a username and password. Who even does that?

The demo was pretty good, not sure if I finished it, but I enjoyed playing it, didn't like the music that much tbh :ROFLMAO:

Pretty sure they meant your 2k account and not your steam account

Add launcher - Username and password required 🤷‍♂️ people just exploded without thinking about these simple common sense factors.

Again, it was uncalled for and stupid, but I think the reaction it got was also over the top.

Some launchers don't require an account. I've been using PDX Launcher for so long, and didn't require one. It's just way too much information they steal by force, now you can't even post a video of an exploit?

I think people's reaction was way too calm considering what they are doing, I hope they face consequences.

I don't play borderlands, so either way it really didn't matter much to me, just one more free game in the backlog...but even the old FF7 (not the remake) I got free from Dell using DRP requires a square enix account--an account I actually cancelled once because they did a FB giveaway that I won...made me wait four months for my prize and it ended up being a $50 gift card to their own store.

They told me they had to process my prize to their own store and kept delaying because they werent going to even give me one...as someone who owned most of their games 5 times on multiple systems I was so pissed I terminated my own account. I've had to re-make one by now for stupid crap like that

Now thats a reason to blow a fuse...having them ask for their own credentials isnt really a world ender 🤷‍♂️ idk maybe i'm not getting the full story.

EDIT:

If it makes you feel any better, I never even played FF7 because I didnt feel like digging up my SE account  so it didn't do square any favors adding it.

I'll avoid them judging by this situation
