NOT FUNNY :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

P.D: I've watched the video without audio,XD

It's partially funny and partially horrific because it's not the first time. I'm afraid the USA is becoming something from Orwell's 1984.
Not in the USA, all over the world. My country is worse, today. In fact Orwell was inspired by it. "Orwell in Spain" (Homage to Catalonia + extras)

Well they can't outdo last weeks repeat of the game nobody wanted the first time
It can always be worse. So far, for me, the worst thing they have done is remove games from libraries by "refunding" them. I don't want the $0 I paid for it refunded. Also, some games never get given at all in some regions due to being unable to attain age ratings or embargos. This is made even worse when, in many cases, the game is available on Steam in those regions, even if you have to activate with a key, not by buying through the store.

I'm going to ask the question everyone is going to want to ask. What the hell is an embargo?
When the US tells a country they're very naughty, and then fine anyone doing business with them. Many companies afraid of violating an embargo will simply choose not to make their free game available in RU/BY commonly, but UA/CH are also common. It depends on the item. Not all things are under embargo, or sanctions if that's a word more familiar to you.

Ya, sanctions is more familiar. Never knew it was such an issue though.

The US is such a big economic market that no one really bothers sanctioning them. Companies don't want to lose access to the market, or risk fines, so they often err on the side of caution.

The real issue for the US is created by the US itself, tariffs. While few things are banned, if they're so expensive to import it's not economically viable, then the result is the same.

To make it relevant here, I often see Pax asking on SG if a key is banned in Russia. Most people are too lazy to create country restrictions, and probably have no idea anyway.

In my own case, I own several games in my Steam library that I activated with keys that are not available in my region. This is different from delisting. The games download and play just fine, but I can't see the store page.

I can still see discussions though.

I'm well aware of region restrictions, its why I suggested people add regions to their wishlist long ago (mine still says US for the fact)

Believe it or not, all the other restrictions become problematic here sometimes when getting a key, because most locked outside the US dont work in the US. its not such a huge deal when buying because its the most common free region, but when others are giving it to you or trading it is.

What I was saying is that the game might not be sold in a region from the store page, but a key might still work.

Usually when there are multiple key region restrictions, it's due to pricing differences, not bans.
Also aware of this fact, I may be in the US but I pay as much attention, if not more, to everyone elses issues they come across. I do live in a forum thats worldwide after all and generally enjoy gifting people who aren't total dickshits all day long  most of my knowledge about issues is from paying attention to other people's even when I don't use a site or app.
