Yes, local laws which change the situation. If he is required by law to do something, then assuming the law is enforced fairly, he would.
Yes, this makes perfect sense. You made an agreement, and he went back on it. I completely agree.
See, both of those things completely change what I was talking about. One is a law, the other is an agreement. Both must be followed. They also must be enforceable... And the failure of that is why your specific situation became so complicated.
They all seem okay until they're not.
Sure. The only reason I even made this comment was to clarify my general opinion on the voluntary tenant/landlord relationship versus your specific situation.
As I said before local laws are different everywhere, and I've already made clear my opinion of following through on agreements made.
Thats my biggest issue actually...I held to my end shitty as things were...until later anyway. Even if I just shake your hand and say I will--I will. Same with a contract.
To me its just respect. I offered to move myself without his help to another unit as well. I was beyond reasonable.
But the bottom line is we had a deal...and he didnt follow through on his end.
I'll use whatever laws I need to win--but only because i'm right as a matter of principal, law, and this fact in the first place.
If I was wrong we would never have ended up in court...I never fight battles I know I dont deserve to win
In this case...I was pushed to the extreme, literally have no choice but to win...i'm fucked, and due to that fact, so is he. He wrecked my fucking like $12,000 PC setup it took most of my adult life to build, my bed, two air conditions, my old floppy PC thats older than he is...and everything else inbetween, nevermind the torture of living here itself. Theres not a day I dont regret waking up in this place. I barely have a functioning bathroom for god sake and had no kitchen sink either most of my tenancy.
Bugs mold, I wouldnt pay for the walls here...more.likely to catch a disease than shelter from a storm

...really.
Tent with a stove for a grand...next to the dumpster, would have been better living conditions, I shit you not.
If I could give the money up and see the unit condemned, i'd probably do it...but my personal situation comes before bettering the world heh.
