The most ridiculous thing about steamgifts is that if the value of a game you give away is reduced by its creators or sold as a bundle, your previously earned points will be reduced. Worse, if that game is distributed for free in the future, all of your points earned from that game will be deleted, even if you have given it before. In this case, your level can drop, which happened to me. While trying to go from level 4 to 5, I suddenly returned to level 1.
You should read the FAQ in the Help section up top. It explains levelling (Contribution Value) and other stuff, too. CV is based on the US Steam retail price of a game with a big caveat. A game can be either full CV, reduced (giving only 15% value) or a freebie (giving 0 CV). You get 1 new giveaway slot for every 3 successful giveaways you have completed. (If you delete a giveaway you lose a slot though.)

And yes, there are fewer entries on higher level public giveaways on Steamgifts. Also the higher level you are the better chances you have to get accepted to private groups where your odds can be a lot better than on public giveaways.
Well glad I read that. Steamgifts is not something I will participate in. The chances seem better on reddit like Random Acts Of Gaming ;)

That's partly false. If you give away an unbundled game your CV won't be reduced if the game gets bundled later. Only giveaways after the bundle date will have 15% value, the ones before keep 100% value. Same for zero value if a game is inlcuded in a mass giveaway.

Your SG level can drop for two reasons:
- The US retail price of the game gets decreased. This does indeed have a retroactive effect.
- The game gets added to the bundled or freebie list with a date that is before your giveaway. This happens because SG mods can't keep the bundle list perfectly up to date. It's updated manually, not automatically.

You couldn't be more wrong tbh. First of all if you level up a bit and join a few groups you can get great odds. Secondly you get a lot more chances, have a lot more GAs to choose from and it's a lot quicker to enter giveaways on SG. You get 540 points a day, meaning you can enter dozens of GAs a day and each one only takes a click on the list.

Monkey Island 2. The store doesn't say anything about regional issues with this game.
Weird though.. For a moment when I tried searching for Monkey Island 2 I got no results and after refreshing and searching again I got the search result. Indiegala sure is weird in it's own way 🤣
Maybe you try refreshing and see if the purchase will go through? But be cautious if you are using credits though

Geez.. That is really bad thanks for letting me know at least if my level suddenly dropped in future I will know why.

15% value!? Then all my giveaways will probably just get 15% value then since they will be common drops that I got from Indiegala 🙃

Did I get cheated? I only have 400 points max 😂

The vast majority of keys shared on SG fall into the reduced CV category, so most everyone is levelling up the same way. You can quite quickly reach lvl3 or lvl4 with Feudalife drops.

The cap is 400 points but it takes less than 24 hours to reach it. You get 6 points every 15 minutes. So it's 576 points a day actually. Sorry about the wrong number.

You can only accumulate up to 400 points normally, so that's correct. The refill rate is 6 points every 15 minutes, so you can get 576 points per day, but only if you spend them.
You can get over 400 however - if a giveaway you entered gets deleted, you get all your points back regardless of the cap, so for example if a 20P giveaway gets deleted, while you're at 390 points, you'll end up with 410.

Then all my giveaways will probably just get 15% value then since they will be common drops that I got from Indiegala
Some of the games in the challenges count as unbundled on SG. Though I haven't checked if they are really unbundled or the staff just missed them.

I see! That makes sense now. Anyway I will just slowly do my leveling just like how I did here at Indiegala. 🙃
Though here I am not very sure what I am leveling for since I hardly win anything but still it's good to give what extras I have 😄

And I read after 5 copies you get further reductions of 10% every subsequent copies thereafter.. 15% -10% (13.5%) -10% (12.something% lazy to count 🤣)

Anyway any good Steamgifts group to join/look out for? No obligations to share though as I know sharing them here might lower your overall odds of winning yourself and I am totally understanding of that ;)

Join the Lootboy SG group. It's public, you can simply enter the Steam group and get access to the corresponding SG giveaways. A similar group is called 'Delete giveaway if key is not working' or something like that. That one you have to request to join on the SG forum. Many people use these two to share their Feudalife keys.

If you have less than 8 wins and have been on SG for 2 months you should request access to the Unlucky-7 group.

A good entry group into the world of SG groups with ratio requirement is the Total War: Arena group. Its requirements are easy to meet and the group is quite big with plenty of giveaways. I think you need to be lvl3 for that. You can look up their topic on the SG forum.

Another type of groups are where you are required to play your wins. From those Playing Appreciated is the easiest to get into and with the most lenient rules.

Generally you can look for groups in the Group Recruitment section of the SG discussion boards. You should read their requirements before applying and avoid trying to join too many at once as that might be a red flag for group owners. The better groups usually require at least a bit of a track record and levelling history on SG.

I have been close to 2 years on Steamgifts, and have won a lot of stuff, mostly (98%) due to private groups. I have given keys from bundles i bought, but also a lot of keys won here in the challenges. Here are some groups i can suggest with not much constraints :

Steam Community :: Group :: Bundle Quest (you must keep a good balance in their own way of counting, but it's easy).
Steam Community :: Group :: Playing Appreciated (you must play what you win)
Steam Community :: Group :: TotalWar:Arena / Steam Community :: Group :: UnitedGamers Giveaways (mandatory GA every month)
Steam Community :: Group :: Adult World Gamers (no constraints)
Steam Community :: Group :: Adult Elite Gamers (no constraints)

Most of them have a topic in the Steamgifts forums, and you have to declare there first that you want to join.

After that, there is some other groups with bigger constraints, you need to do giveaways of a certain standing, and/or you just need to control your winnings with your givings.

And don't really count on public giveaways, or even on group GAs from public Steam groups, too much people.

If you have questions, don't hesitate !

Hmm.. Playing or rather idling games? 🤣
I do love to play many of my games I have but I need for a pc upgrade which is hard to do at this point

Thanks for the suggestions and no bars sharing MadLibrarian! Hopefully this will turn the tides over even if a bit for me. Not sure how many giveaways I joined here to finally win something (maybe also over 1k?) but it can be rather depressing to know that I have trouble winning something 😫

I just had so much trouble login into Indiegala , holy hell , had to try 5 or 6 times , even clearing browser cache did not help at first
I got stuck sometimes by that silly login button not working (pressing did nothing) and usually refreshing did the trick. Not sure what other login issues you guys are facing though. I never want to have them if otherwise 🙃

Here are some groups i can suggest with not much constraints :
Thanks for the selfless sharing Zolivv! 😍

True. I had a blast playing it.

On Steamgifts, i won today the new Dead by Deadlight DLC from a guy who had put 10 of them in the same GA :ROFLMAO:
Congratz on the win Zolivv! But don't tell me it is for the Hour of the Witches DLC as that would meant that the giver might be a multi-accounter. But nonetheless the act of giving is still a big generosity so I shall not complain here 🤣

My experience after playing 2 h of Cryostasis is that its janky , buggy and has lot of tehnical problems but they absolutely nailed audio design and atmosphere and story seems quite interesting.
Now I really want to play Cryostasis but I read that you need quite the spec to have the game hold out properly 🤪

Its probably because I had my android logged in also , two different IP's
I see! But sometimes there is also this issue by their checks that prevented me from logging in. Once I did attempt to login and accidentally closed my browser in the midst. Trying to load the page and get login again placed me on a 2 mins or so ban for my ip. Just a small inconvenience but still 🙃

I think i hit 2000 tries before finally winning something (nearly 2 months). Then i won something like 10 minor games or DLCs in 4 months, then i discovered groups, and that went reaaaaaaally up.
