I am looking for some good RPG game. For me the most important is plot, role play and I like 'From zero to hero' (no level scaling). What I love: Gothic, Risen, Elex, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Spellforce. What I don't like: Witcher, Dying Light, The Elder Scrolls. Do you have any interesting suggestions for a game for me?
Maybe you should try Mount&blade series. Its all about zero2hero, but usually minimum plot. But action fighting is fantastic. I played til i couldn`t get the hang of taking over castles without dying. That`s hard.

I see you guys recommending good RPGs and action RPGs but any of you here are also a Horror head like me? I love a good horror what's better than to spook oneself while playing a game. Just like when I started playing F.E.A.R years back (didn't complete it then). I can't count the times I got spooked by the sudden appearance of that "girl" that I wasted bullets onto walls 🀣

BTW anyone played Five Nights at Freddy's? I heard it's good but how it stacks up to say Visage (I know this is 1 spooky as heck title)?

I think that only third-person. Sometimes I play isometric, but very rarely. So no classics/isometric rpgs.

I should work but god bless remote work :) Can I ask you for timezone atleast? :) Want to know if we are talking about same morning.
Sorry for the late reply, my timezone is UTC +2 (Athens). I'm preparing the list now, so I'll post it in the next few minutes.

Just completed SOMA. Yay it's good and scary. The atmosphere is so good that you can cut it into pieces and take a little every day. And before it was Amnesia Rebirth. I also liked it, but sometimes the technical implementations were really strange: there are choices that do not give anything, there are mechanics that are needed literally once and then they forget about them, some things are just illogical, the idea of adding a full character body, and not only the hands and the view from the eyes, is good, but you constantly cling to some little things, there are too many uninteresting notes... Strange that this game was released later, but not before SOMA.
And i really liked how horrorous was Alien Isolation, sometimes it pissed me off when the alien started jumping out where it shouldn't be, but then it was honestly explained in the story, but all this atmosphere of loneliness and horror at a large but deserted station was wonderfully implemented. And it has his own Freddy clone - Alien: Blackout!

SOMA looks good (scary) I might just dig that! I also read that the previous Amnesia series are also scary as heck. Geez.. So now I have so much scary games to look forward to in future. I also wish to replay F.E.A.R since I didn't manage to complete it before (more bullet onto the wall I guess? :ROFLMAO:). I heard Alien is spooky too and you confirmed it. So many games so little time πŸ™ƒ

So now there is Visage, SOMA, Amnesia.
And I have yet touched my Layers of Fear and some other horror titles I have stolen with greed :sneaky:

Bottom line is I am just a greed monkey (never having enough games) πŸ’

The endless horror! Really need to find time (and digging into deep pockets) to fuel this horror greed :ROFLMAO:

Hey guys, I'll go offtopic for a moment to let you know we are close to page 500 😲
This is perhaps the most active thread on Indiegala without any bias or hate. Where everyone is basically looking out for each other. What can I say? This community is insane! And this greed monkey is always greedy as heck! πŸ˜‚

The main thing is the atmosphere. If, for example, in Alien you have to move a lot and do a lot, then in games from Frictional you basically go from start to finish, solving simple puzzles along the way, but at the same time they are amazingly able to immerse you in an atmosphere of fear. This is truly a unique feature. You understand that you just need to get from this point to this one, press a couple of buttons, and that's it, you already ran through two locations in one evening, but one meeting with a local "resident", and you decide - perhaps it’s good for today, you need gain moral strength and return further. It's not like a movie, when all horrorous part is mixed with action, it is pure fear of darkness and unknown. (and btw SOMA from time to time is sold with -90% discount, and alien isolation is probably already in your Epic library).

Soma is not scary imo , its the story , atmosphere and the emotional impact that puts this game above the rest walking sims .
