Guys and bananas, I've got a silly (?) problem: Firefox is using to memory for my taste, 46% and I've got only two tabs open, plus uBlock Origin. What can I do? Change browser? :confused:

Yeah I know it hahaha, 8 GB it's not enought in this period, but honestly I don't know if I can upgrade the laptop or not. I have to investigate 🧐

hi,
there're as a task manager in the tools section of firefox, perhaps you'll find some answer
you can also try the "repair" function
firefox has an autoupdate routine, perhaps it's broken, so repairing could correct this

In total 8 (7,74 exactly) GB and Firefox is using 678,71 MB and yeah, maybe it's normal :unsure:

So doing some math, that means your Operating system is using about 3.5Gb of ram I’m guessing you are using windows right? If so windows uses anywhere from 3-3.5Gb in idle, hence why 8gb is not enough especially when gaming! I had to upgrade the ram in my old laptop for the same reason. Now the real question is whether or not you can upgrade the ram in your laptop, since some manufactures sodier one or both ram sticks to the motherboard.

And I play games that required 1 GB/max 2 GB (I close every app so there's no any problems). This is the RAM status without any app open, if can be useful:


And seems I can add more RAM :unsure:

A 16Gb 8gbx2 kit will probably cost you $40-$60 at least in the usa, you’ll have to know exactly what ram though (opening it up is your best option). Some ram runs on 1.5 volts and some 1.35v and not all laptops can use both, also try to match any numbers or letters. For example pc312800s ddr3l sodium, the L stands for low voltage. Also you can search for your laptops model on the crucial website and they can show you what is compatible.
