Guys and bananas, I've got a silly (?) problem: Firefox is using to memory for my taste, 46% and I've got only two tabs open, plus uBlock Origin. What can I do? Change browser?
Try restarting - I think Firefox has had a problem sometimes with not releasing memory. You might find that after restarting (with the same pages open, you can enable "Open previous windows and tabs" in Firefox startup settings to make that easy) it uses less memory.

I believe a discord would be MUCH easier to use in this fashion than steam. The verification, the bots, the app has better uptime xD We can have our nicknames, channels, easier navigation than steam, etc
I do agree that Discord will be much easier but it might not totally weed out multi-accounts much. I mean for myself I do have 2 Discord accounts (1 for gaming channel spams that gleam forces me to join and what not, another clean channel for actual chatting use, though very very seldom used).

Also since most of out chats will still revolve around this beloved forum we call our little breakaway from life (no pun intended BreakAway 🤪) we need not use the lousy chat system on Steam Groups page. Steam group will be mainly used to check for games where gifter wants their gifted games to be activated on tied steam account and or played within certain time period (only if gifter puts this requirements on their giveaway).

I think these sound fine but I hope that the additional requirement ("Games must be played within 2 months, and maybe decent progress within 6 months. For gifters who wants to see their gift played") is not used very often. For example, people who have jobs may not be able to play a lot before their respective vacation periods arrive, and some newer games may require even hardware upgrades before people can play them, which they might not be able to afford at the moment. I think the key is that the person should really intend to play the game instead of only collecting, but making a strict time limit for that can be difficult.
Understood but the requirements are for gifters to put though. I believe most of the gifters here are plenty alright with games not being played soon enough due to many circumstances each of us has. I would be very very ashamed myself to say that I have been getting games from many of the kindest people here over the past year but how many games have I actually played? Less than 10 out of the perhaps 1k games I have won, traded or gifted that a good number I really look forward playing. I am perhaps the biggest criminal as I am still greedy for more games despite now being busy and lacking of a good computer spec to play anymore than say Deadly 30 (Valorant crashes my pc 10 minutes into play is how bad my pc can handle games now, low settings mind you) 😅

I believe most gifters are happy enough if their given games goes to the steam account that it was meant for instead of multi-accounters.

I think the steam group is a good idea, but for what purpose would it be, only giveaways?
Mainly for giveaways, more like giveaways could still be done here but gifter will indicate that only open to Gamer's Lair steam group members for example. Steam group could also be used to organize multiplayer gameplays as and when we can. After all we are a gaming community that is spread vast and wide across the globe. A rather uncommon or I would say rare to have, so why not cherish smacking each other in game across different time zones? 🤣

your post reminded me of something that I should've posted like 2 or 3 days ago before the giveaway floods started here :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: , when I saw this first I was shocked 😵 but now I'm weirdly kind of proud or happy about it I guess 😛.
This is also 1 case where the steam group could prove your innocence rather than being blanketed as a multi-accounter just because someone else has the same name as you. He/she may have the same Legolas but will definitely not tag the same Steam account. There will be some entry requirements in accepting the Steam accounts to the group if and when created.

Yeah, you're right but I'm not really worried about that as most people here already know me by now (y). The multi account I got is for Botseries 🤖 and I only created that to even stand a chance against the horde of bots and multies. The result of that is disappointment on two accounts instead of just one now :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.

I have 42 tabs active in Chrome (a lot more are open but not active lol) using 2.8G/16G
A 16Gb 8gbx2 kit will probably cost you $40-$60 at least in the usa, you’ll have to know exactly what ram though (opening it up is your best option). Some ram runs on 1.5 volts and some 1.35v and not all laptops can use both, also try to match any numbers or letters. For example pc312800s ddr3l sodium, the L stands for low voltage. Also you can search for your laptops model on the crucial website and they can show you what is compatible.
Or you can use an app like CPU-Z which will show you what memory you have installed and it's voltage. This is a ss of CPU-Z in the pc I'm using right now 1 is the type of ram in slot 1 on the board. 2 shows the voltages of the ram sticks. I have several laptops tho, and I had trouble finding finding ram to upgrade for one of them, till I realised that it used 1.5v ram, most laptops I think now use 1.35v and some can use both tho not at the same time. Best to replace with more Gigs of the same type you already have so you know they'll work for you.

If you're using a HDD you'll find it MUCH zippier to change to an SSD, even in older laptops. I have a core2duo that got soooo zippy after the swap.

(Ignore the frequencies of my ram here, I dunno what's going on. They are all the same frequency. Perhaps its something to do with a multicore cpu. It works. I leave it be lol. Tho I do have 2x4G sticks and 2x2G sticks in dual channel use. When prices come down - yeah even for older ram - I'll upgrade again. I found 8G worked for general usage but add a game with your browser or discord or all three running then yeah, you need more.)
