I feel like I'm stating the obvious, but you guys are laying out for indiegala what to take away.
Don't be surprised if the refresh gets patched now and costs you silver every time.
Or the few challenges left that are viable at high malus getting nerfed.
I'm not saying not to share your thoughts but maybe someplace more discreet.
Ah yes, Official Feudalife CHALLENGE feedback Thread

Would be a shame if one of us (or more) might simply be indiegala sleeper agents infiltrating the community and encouraging discourse of tactics regarding the game so we they could polish the irregularities that makes the game easier. I'm sure we are all just regular people around here enthusiastically enjoying and sharing our strategies. :giggle:

I'm not too worried about that - all these things like high skill tactics or when exactly the game takes silver have been discussed repeatedly since the challenges started and nothing about that has been fundamentally changed.

Sure the difficulty was adjusted several times and the malus system was introduced to prevent skilled players from winning 24 times a day, but not all the changes were strictly about raising the difficulty. For example the sapling challenge used to be much less playable - it would almost never generate 40 light saplings and you often didn't have a chance of beating it even in 60 seconds. Or the grass mowing challenge, which didn't have single-hit tiles originally, so it was much harder to beat quickly.
Another example of a change that didn't make anything harder: several months ago I noticed that if you get all of the malus reductions available it would go to -1 and when tested it indeed meant that every time I won I would get extra time, that was fixed since then - nowadays you can only get malus down to 0, so our ability to win in that situation has been unchanged, but we don't have to spend more and more time on every challenge.

The way I see it, the gameplay giveaway's goal is too attract people to the site with the promise of freebies, so making those freebies impossible to get would be counter productive. The most important metric for deciding if they want us to able to win more or less must be the number wins we get and that data is always available to the devs, it's not something we can feasibly conceal. (At least without resorting to multi-account shenanigans and we don't cheat like that, right?) So in my opinion there's no need to be sneaky. Enjoy the challenges, enjoy your wins, if anything drastic happens, it would happen either way, after all nothing lasts forever, so let's have fun while we can.

Newcomer here.

My first impression of these challenges, is that the actual "challenge" involved seems to primarily come from some combination of: awful input lag, janky controls, weird movement, and just generally unpleasant gameplay. I'd describe the feeling less as "fun" or "challenging", than as "tedious".

Am I missing something here? Or is the abject jankiness of it all essentially the whole point?

Could the input lag be due to me not meeting some excessively high minimum system requirement bar necessary to run this several-megabyte blob of minified JavaScript at a somewhat-acceptable speed? Or is that just how this thing runs for everyone? (And yes, I am using Chrome with all the hardware acceleration stuff turned on etc etc.)

It feels like I've had something shiny dangled in front of me, only to discover that in order to get it, I have to engage in acts of self-torture involving, like, winning QWOP. Or something.

Thanks.

Here's a gameplay run (courtesy of @freakill ) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYyIdVamzZPngkRj9HKyrBU99Nais4xCL
if it runs about the same for you (as in FPS etc.), then it's just a matter of practice. If you're getting worse performance than that, then it's either:
a) hardware (I had an older laptop and the challenges were a nightmare on it, barely ran at all; mind that by "older" I don't mean bad specs at all, just an aged machine, but it was a mid-range gaming laptop in its best hour)
b) dynamic difficutly - at certain times throughout the day, the challenges are harder -run slower and so on, it could simply be you caught them at a "high difficulty" time - I can see HUGE differences between playing morning CET and early afternoon CET and almost-midnight CET

(but otherwise I'd say yeah, some level of janky controls is always present, especially the watering challenge for me - plant is highlighted, cursors in correct position, plant does not get watered anyway)

I know Chrome is the one devs recommend, but try other browsers as well. The game used to work best in Chrome for me until it became very jerky sometime last year, since then I've been using Firefox and while it doesn't feel like I'm getting perfect performance at all times, it seems to mostly run at 60 FPS with a few dips here and there.
awful input lag
Unless the game runs poorly for you, you shouldn't see any appreciable input lag. You can try going through my videos frame by frame and the hit animation usually starts either on the same frame as the button press registers or on the next frame.

Interesting, in the last couple of months I've been playing around 9:00-12:00 GMT with occasional runs around 7:00-8:00 GMT, and a some runs around 17:00-19:00, and 21:00-23:00 GMT and I haven't seen all that much difference. The only stand out example of difficulty spike I can remember recently was today around 12:50 GMT, when I only barely managed to kill the first three archers and all the following ones were way too accurate and good at running so they massacred me.

Not too sure myself about the different timing to start difficulties but on my run where I used to almost utilize all my accumulated silvers (240 is) for the day to attempt accomplishing 3-4 keys, total of 3 rounds I can get differing results from Archers within the same hour. Say like round 1 archers are just dumb runners coming at me to get easily killed, ended the lives of 11 archers and only got 1 hit. Round 2 still inaccurate archers but they got sneakier and tried side dodging to avoid getting hit, ended 7 archers and only got 3 hits from them (8 malus). Round 3, Archers likes to spawn at differing ends making me run across the map and them increasing in numbers on field due to the back and forth run. After they got the numbers they took turns to shoot accurately at me from distance and stun lock me to death from half health, only managed to kill 5 (12 malus).

I was thinking isn't these all, including Archers part of the RNG? Good RNG dumb walkers. Bad RNG mad snipers.

Hi, i know this thread has mentioned things about unique keys but i don't know how to search for this one.
I think my key is cut off, the format is AAAAAA-BBBBBB-CCCCCC-DDDDDD-EEE
All letters, 6 per segment, and 3 at the end.

Any idea what this is? Or am i supposed to email support?

I think some people have already tried asking support (?) with no result, somebody here pointed out it looks like old MS Office PINs, but they no longer work. Many people have gotten these weird keys (I have 3 of them) and we just don't know what to do with them. Just forget about it I guess

Ran into a weird bug with the watering challenge while doing it with -12 malus. Had about 2-3 seconds left when I finished watering the last two plants. On the 15th the peppers popped up about a second before the timer ran out but the count didn't go from 14/16 to 15/16. On the 16th the peppers never showed up even though I didn't make a targeting mistake, the rectangle was on it each of the 4 waterings. Also I'm rather sure it wasn't a time issue as I already started watering the 17th and 18th plants when the challenge finished. Very frustrating, would have been my first ever win at -12s.

The second bug (watering not registering even though the rectangle was on the plant's tile) already happened to me once before a few days ago.

Edit: I was watering the 17th and 18th plants when time ran out not the 19th and 20th. Sorry about the mistake.

Got the "Inconsistent data" bug just now, all I did was start a new game in Feudalife to change the music volume and the challenges reset back to trees, which I had already done along with sickling, but after that it went like normal.

And seeing as how changing the settings in Feudalife didn't affect the Challenge at all, could we get the game settings menu in the main page of the challenge, that would be great.

Also I'm rather sure it wasn't a time issue as I already started watering the 19th and 20th plants when the challenge finished
Weird math if you still ended up losing.

I won the first challenge, then spent 200 galasilver to remove malus and won the 2nd challenge and it said connection error. I left with nothing. My in total 220 galasilver gone. I see only the first challenge's price/key.
Connection error message unfortunately will supercede any win. I haven't had this in a long time, but don't ever tab out or lose focus if you can help it, this seems to trigger it if it "desyncs," is my guess.

This is utter crap, i lost 200 galasilver to remove malus and lost 10 galasilver for challenge and lost challenge prize. What is good in this situation? Nothing but shit, oh i also lost time. It's complete bullshit.
happened to me too a similar bug:
I encountered a bug today: I had 100 galasilver and wanted to remove -2sec malus so I spent 100 galasilver the game started but then I got the message I don't have enough gala to play. I didn't think I needed 110 to play then, but it didn't advice me and they removed me 100 galasilvers without playing.

You could just wait and then play? My situation is as you can see a lot worse. it's dead-end.
