It seems I need VPN to play. previously I had to turned VPN off because the whole Indiegala website wouldn't load at all otherwise, loaded as a blank/dead site with VPN on, which was fixed by turning it off (the challenge was down then) Once I turned VPN back on, the game would load. And I turned it back off again and it wouldn't load. Multiple tests confirm, the game would only work with VPN on. How bizarre.

And keep in mind none of my other browsers work either, perhaps because they aren't using VPN. Only Opera with VPN on.

I spent 10 silver for the try, 100 silver for taking off two seconds from malas, plus the silver required to rotate over to the only challenge I can possibly manage with 2 malas, and deprived of my prize because "suspicious activity"

For some reason it only works in full-screen for me, and after minutes of trying I did get it working, but the controls were unresponsive most of the time. The collision detection is very clunky and the speed of mining is set so that you definetly can't reach the target in the time limit, unless your controls work perfectly, which wasn't the case for me.
Even if I did reach the target goal, i'm seeing comments of people saying they won a used Steam key. This is pretty shady stuff, and this is one game I don't mind losing to Flash player's closure.

The chances of getting a used key are low, maybe even extremly low.
And I think the game is in Java not Flash so we won't be losing it.

And did you turn ON hardware acceleration on your browser settings? I just checked and it runs fine with it on but somewhat laggy with it off.

it would only be "shady" if we paid, which we don't, it's all free and sometimes the games are really good. And thankfully Flash doesn't seem to be required so not gonna lose it

Looks like Feudalife got updated to a new build 16/12/2020 17:39:30 (was 08/04/2020 21:10:26 when I played yesterday) and it's very broken:
  1. First time it loaded fine, but there was music in the game, which I previously turned off in the main game. I tried turning it off again, but that didn't change anything - music remained.
  2. Played one challenge and the framerate was visibly lower - not unplayable, but quite noticeable.
  3. After playing once, both the main game and the challenge stopped loading at all - the page freezes soon after the loading animation ends and the "fetching user data" screen shows up (sometimes it freezes just as the "loading" message fades out), and then Firefox starts complaining that "A web page is slowing down your browser" (Chrome doesn't have such a message, but otherwise the page acts the same)
Devs, could you revert back to stable build? This one is no good.

Well, you could. And hopefully we will be able to again.
Anyway, you have to go to the main game there: https://feudalife.indiegala.com/ and play for a little bit until a menu bar on the top right appears - on it there is a fairly standard settings icon that looks like a cog, and changes to the main game apply to challenges as well.

Also, you can access https://feudalife.indiegala.com/?challenge=1 ? I have an error since this morning : ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
Yes, it loads and freezes a couple of seconds later.

Same, getting ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR on chrome, PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR on firefox, on multiple devices. Happens both on the challenge and the normal feudalife game, can't even access the feudalife page. All other Indiegala pages load fine. Already tried the usual fixes for that kind of problem (browser cache, ssl cache reset, host file etc.) with no change. For some reason that error only happens on my home network, I can load the feudalife site on my mobile connection without problems, so if I had to guess the update did something that my ISP (Telekom Germany) has some troubles with.

I managed to play just now but it was extremely laggy. At one point in the sickling challenge I mashed the mouse button for over 5 seconds and only one swing came out.

Try clearing your cache.
Well, what do you know, it worked! Kinda. The game doesn't go past "Fetching user data..." message, but the page doesn't freeze anymore. Thanks.
EDIT: And I'm back to square one: after several reloads the page again started to freeze almost immediately.

I got one challenge ok in Mozilla, then extreme lag, but in Chrome everything worked just fine. Did they tweak hoeing challenge somehow? the guy is extremely slow with the hoe, way slower than he used to be, or at least it seems so to me. But on the other hand, tree chopping received a mad boost it seems, which is cool. Also grass sickling now has grass that only needs one click to remove, also neat. Thanks for these changes!

Mm that's strange. Are you using Chrome to play? Generally speaking, the game is meant to be played in Chrome, other browsers can have different behaviours including lag and graphical glitches.
