I have always had that doubt, if it was allowed to use some program to map the mouse buttons on the keyboard or even some joystick.I remember people complaining about having to use the mouse for various reasons (especially notebook users without a mouse) and asking if there's a way to play on just the keyboard. Here's a fairly painless way to use keyboard for mouseclicks:
- Install AutoHotKey
- Create a new AutoHotKey script: right click in any folder or on desktop → New → AutoHotKey script
- Right click on your new script → Edit Script
- Replace the file's contents with:
and save.
Now, when you execute this file, your Right Alt and ≣ Menu buttons will act as mouse buttons. You can turn off the script through a green H icon that will appear in taskbar.
If you want to use other buttons, here's an article with proper key names that the program will recognize: List of Keys (Keyboard, Mouse and Joystick) | AutoHotkey
I started playing a bit again and I only have a rather flaky wifi or an OK-ish mobile connection through my phone currently. I only got an error at the end of a challenge once in two days, so you don't actually need a beefy internet to play.
Which is kinda good news and bad news at the same time:
- the good is that you can play just fine as long as you can load the page and your connection is stable,
- the bad is you can't really improve anything beyond that - everything important is on the server which is also where all the bugs live.
but I always had the fear that this is illegal and will result in a ban or penalty.
Either because they detect the program or they see that the mouse pointer does not move a millimeter.
Nowadays I am used to use it in the traditional way, but if this is allowed, it would be a great relief for the mice or buttons of a notebook.
