I've heard it even works if you close it before the 3,2,1 countdown is over, but never tried that myself either. It's likely you'll lose 10 galasilver if you do this.
You can close it during the 3,2,1 countdown without losing galasilver. I do it all the time. When I'm on 14/15s malus I always reload the hoeing challenge to get an easy map with this method.

Aaaaaaand one more positive feedback. Everything seems to be confirmed.
Automatic feedback is given at 11:40 UTC for giveaways that finished at least 72 hours before.

Very insightful comment and agreed on everything except for watering. Are you really sure that it's winnable with 14/15s malus? The highest I've seen claimed so far was with 9s malus (with 3s malus/ per win). I'm not particularly close even with 10s malus to be honest even though my performance and experiences line up pretty well with yours in all other challenges. I think freakill and other experts can only win it maybe with 9s/10s malus at max. I'd really like to see a video of that.

I think hoeing can be won with 20s malus. Sometimes though quite rarely when I'm on an easy map and don't make mistakes I can score 67-69 even with 14/15s malus. That could probably just be good enough for a win at 20s. But it's just not worth my time to do another full round then do a bunch of reloading for an easy map to then have a say 20% shot at winning it.
I'm doing watering on 10s pretty consistently, although I rarely get the chance to actually try it at 14s/15s. The usual route is chopping at 0, then either stones or fighting at 5 (in case it's 7, watering most likely), then watering at 10 and hoeing at 14/15, then I stop because, like you said, i'm too lazy to run another full circle for a not-so-great chance of completing hoeing at 20s. I've heard a couple of people claim watering at 14/15 is doable and I find it plausible because I do manage 10s watering with a miss or two, less so lately since I got a new mech kb and I'm still getting used to it and missing everything like crazy for the past week :D. But in case I happen to go for it, I'll definitely try to make a video.

What are the specs for your machine ? And your browser ? Despite being overly simple, this game seems to be very dependant on power, and on mine (6 year old i5 and a poor 2060 for the graphics card, on Chrome), it is physically impossible to win trees or rocks with 5s malus, even with not a single mistake. My route is Trees at no malus, sickling at 5s or watering if i missed sickling, archers at 10s if i'm very lucky (watering seems impossible on my rig at 10s malus), or most likely hoeing, where i don't hesitate to reload 30 or 40 times the map to have a good one (have to reload the page before the end of the begin timer so you lose nothing and stay at the challenge you're at).

in trees and stones, you also need to keep in mind the rhythm of the strikes. I can't explain it in words exactly, but there is a time when the hit is already counted, but the animation is still ending, and if you catch and remember the right rhythm, you can make more hits. never bothered with it in the trees, 6 trees and $0.01 in result ok for me, just noticed that it is more convenient for me to do it from the phone, but stones with +5 can be won quite often.

Rhythm is the keyword for sure, once you get the muscle memory about the optimal time between strikes, you don't even have to look at the screen while right clicking anymore. 5s is doable, 7s needs a perfect layout and hits, I think I only did it a couple of times for both on 7 (rocks for sure, not sure about chopping but I kind of recall doing it once). Watering leaves much more room for error than both I'd say and also suffers the most from server connection instability, but at least it doesn't depend on map layout. It definitely isn't about the machine, I'm running it all on 7700k/1060ti/16gb and I have no issues whatsoever, it's still only an html5 game and chrome's task manager also says that it's barely using anything. I might be waiting patiently for a gpu upgrade nowadays, but your rig is far from weak for this kind of challenge.

Every time, it's the same thing. Email announcement with fancy graphic. Every time, someone says "new games?" and... none.

I've probably missed, between all the down time and closures, over 4 months worth of challenges.

Having resumed recently, not a single new game, all the same old ones. Don't get your hopes up.
