If you already own the game, activating it again won't do anything. The key is still valid, but you do not yet know what game it is for. In the product activation tab for Steam (in your browser, not the Steam client) check the confirmation box, press F12, then input your code and click activate. You will get that same message that you already own the product. On your right, or otherwise at the bottom of your screen there will be a few different tabs. Click on the network tab. When you click activate, a new entry will appear. Click on that entry and click the down arrow. You should then be able to find the game TITLE somewhere in that entry.

If you already own the game, then you can probably use the key for a giveaway on Indiegala, give it to a friend, or if the game is good, you could sell or trade it.

If, however, you get a different error, where it states that the key has been activated by another account, then the key is not valid and you got unlucky.
ik what your talking about but thing is that it says that i already own the product (associated) with this key not just own the product

Get your stuff straight mate, how will indiegala know wtf you own before, maybe you want them to pay you some kind of emotional distress fine?
Plus it's so random you can get the same game 150 times, give it to a friend, and stop crying about free stuff...

Yea it's been down for some time.

no its not "you already own this game" it says "you already own the product associated with this key"
that's the same thing, it just tells you that you own the game the key is for -> you just own the game already and that's it

do you know what account owns product associated with this code means and that its different from you already own this product???
it's not different, it's the same exact thing

the key is already activated by a different steam account.
the game was "Supreme Commander Retail"

(the different answer is definitely wrong, I can promise you that when it says "you own the product associated with key" it says nothing about activating in the past)
Did your friend get "Duplicate product code" when trying to activate, or an error/unable to activate -> some games don't activate in some countries, Germany and Asutralia are notoriously bad about videogames
(better luck next time you play challenges, btw)

the key is already activated by a different steam account.

got the same, unfortunatelly there is no way to tell if it was already duplicate when OP received the key (unless the friend confirms they got the "duplicate code" message), because it's been sitting here for an hour before we tried to activate, so some bot could have snatched and activated already

I honestly think Indiegala should give lower cost games if necessary, but make sure that the keys actually work... This could totally ruin the site's rep...

They used to refund those type of keys until exploiters ruined it for everyone, like they always do.

It think we are a bit too spoiled from so many free games these past years, to the point where we've become a tad unappreciative even to sites like these, offering free daily steam keys. It had its ups and downs and errors which made people understandably upset with some warranted criticism, but ruining the site's rep is a bit of a stretch for me. This is arguably the best venue to ever acquire a large amount of free steam games. I got from 1500 games to nearly 1700 ever since i started playing this again since Jan 7th. Even if you win 1 challenge per day, that is 1 free steam key every single day, that could indeed potentially be one that doesn't work, but also potentially be a great game, like the STALKER bundle that some people got. People here can win up to 5 steam keys every day, meaning about 150+ free steam keys every month, which is an insane amount for just investing a daily few minutes playing a mini-game a few times.

If the downside to winning free steam keys every single day is sometimes getting some already activated ones and some dlcs, alongside getting technical issues once in a while, then that's really fine to me. It beats joining giveaways by doing actions via setting up your myriad of social media accounts to join their profiles by requiring an invasive permission to accept.

I just had archer machine gun me. I've wondered before if the time between archer being alert and firing, and between archer shots varied. But this game it definitely did. I dodged the archer shot and then went in for the kill, then the archer shoots me like 3-4 times in like 3 seconds. FFS, that's not fair! That's not even enough time to get out of being stunned from being hit last time!

Oh also I want to thank devs for fixing the key order issue. That makes claiming keys so much easier.

The points shown, what are they used for? Does it decide what prize you get if you don't get a key?

Is there any benefit to overshooting a win?

yes, that means that you own the product that the key is linked to. That means you can't claim the game a second time. The key is still valid, but is of no use to you. You can give it away, or sell it, but you dont know what the key is for. If you follow the steps I mentioned earlier you can find out what product the key is for.

Was the archer cornered in the entryway? They consistently tend to activate the full-on "DIablo II Amazon" mode in such situations (probably picked up a "Caged Legolas" perk during one of the level-ups)

Pic unrelated - I just googled "Caged Legolas" out of sheer curiosity and the first result was the weirdest idea for a shoop ever.

Can't they make it so the site detects when it already gave away a key so it doesn't send it again?
if you're talking about duplicate keys, I don't think that's what is happening - IG does not send the same keys twice to different users, instead they negotiated a bulk of keys from various devs/publishers to give away and some of the keys IG received from these devs/publishers was already duplicated, but IG can't know which ones they are. At least in my opinion that's what's happening here

I made a purchase and my max malus was 15s for 24 hours. everything ok up to this point. however, once it got past the 24 hour mark, my malus grew to 24s, even though my max malus was supposed to be 20s.

That's weird, are you sure you had 5 wins and not 6? Cause for me it never just added more malus than I earned once the 24 hours of reduction passed.
