The archers come out at a constant rate every 5 seconds regardless of anything you do. So you should get 12 archers in full 60 seconds (technically there's a 13th coming out as the timer strikes 0, but that one doesn't really count). If you don't even get 9 archers to show up without malus, there's definitely something wrong with how the challenge works for you.

@kalender, I think should be your browser or hardware, if you have try another browser as Firefox. Chrome sometimes gets too heavy for cpu.
Yes still closed challenge, I think at this point I hope for tomorrow.

There might be a difference depending on the time of day you're playing it but i'm not sure. And i try to strike once and then move a little so they miss their shoot. Doesn't work all the time (it worked well before it changed), and i often end up dying, but last 2 times i managed to win. Some luck also, having an archer appearing where you are 2 or 3 times in a game helps.

I'm curious if the time of the day affects archer behaviour. Maybe late night or early morning they are more sleepy Don't know if the difficult can change, but sometimes they're though then other times. For me, usually I go as near as possible to the archer just a bit down (not perfectly in front of him) so the swing can cover a more range even if he moves a bit.

That's showing for me too... But I think there is a glitch right now, as it states the challenge takes GalaSilver (GS) not GalaCredits (GC) which I have like $0.66 of I think at the moment...
The game never mentioned GC in the past except for those almost victories where you'd get like 0.1 or 0.2

yeah, I really wish they'd give a more updated status on when it will be back up. I have two different game sales in the store I might've been able to get the galacredits for if the challenge wasn't down the past two nights

in the past, sometimes you'd only catch it twice per week, or during august or september, it was down for several weeks. This is still pretty okay, only being down for 2 days so far

Do you know; which browsers are working? Google Chrome is recommended and ı tried internet explorer once but didn't even open, so; ı don't want to download blindly.

By the way; İt wasn't like this everytime(except archer challenge but ı was never good at it too.). "Chopping challenge" was working fine for me until one or two weeks ago.

İt is the same message everytime on maintenance. İt is not a bug and they are not changing "giveaway" currancy(I think). İt is means; there is a maintenance going on and it is likely, that; it will return to normal when maintenance is over.

Who knows maybe they decided to put a halt on gameplay giveaway challenges during big sales like spring , summer , winter sale to put greater emphasis on them , just a thought .

I got 4 error messages, and got kicked out at the beginning of a challenge 4 times (unrelated to the errors), so it's slightly buggy today, but I'm very glad it's back, so no complaints!
