In the very beginning of the game, the first time i launched it up , my character walked into a forest and a bird was flying towards him. Every single time i loaded it up after that it was a cemetery. Just everything covered in tombstones. No tress, nothing but tombstones.

OK, i made a new guy 2 times and the 3rd time i finally got the land to appear. If the first map doesnt even display we got serious issues. But im expecting it to not display again another time i log in, possibly after doing lots of work.

I dont see a controls menu anywhere. Im trying to mow the wildgrass but every time i right click to use the sickle the menu pops up. Is there another way to use the tools other than right clicking?

After harvesting the 9 required red beans, the quest seemed to be solved and a bird brought a new mail, but I did not receive a new quest. Later, when I walked north into the town / market, I received a message saying I should return to my place to receive the quest reward or something, but nothing happened when I returned.

Similar issue. Walking into the town does not generate the message that I should return to my place. What does happen is any time I return to my area (from the town or wildlands), the bird shows up saying I completed the red bean quest and delivers the message. The quest indicator will disappear as long as I stay in the area. As soon as I leave, the quest returns. Reading the delivered mail has no impact, and multiple messages can build up in the box.

If I sell the red beans in town or otherwise do not have them in my inventory, the quest will remain incomplete.

I have not been able to receive any additional quests and am now at a standstill. I've purchased all blueprints, but there is nothing left to do.

Browser:
Vivaldi 2.6.1566.49 (Stable channel) (32-bit)
Multiple browser addons.

@silverdancingrule -- I notice you're running on Firefox on PC. I ran into similar strange issues using Firefox, where nothing but the ground seemed to spawn in the maps sometimes, but after multiple restarts I'd have a map set that worked properly. I have found that Chrome is the most stable environment for the game at this time. Try logging in with Chrome and see if it's not any better!

After harvesting the 9 required red beans, the quest seemed to be solved and a bird brought a new mail, but I did not receive a new quest.

@cien (@hadji) -- I had a similar problem using version 0.3.7.3, I think this was fixed as of 0.3.7.4 (posted July 19). Perhaps try clearing your cache and trying again?

That is the version I was already on (I don't believe I started playing until after that date). However, I have cleared my cache and am going through the motions. Unfortunately, I will need to grow a new set of beans. I will report back in the near future.

Same thing. Again, I am fairly certain I was already on this version of the game.

The first image shows the previous "completed" quest as indicated by the mail received (two instances, at that). Note that the "Producing Food" quest indicator is not present.

The second image shows where the quest is "completed" another time. To do this, I had left into town (I sold some flowers and purchased some empty flasks, hence the time passing), and returned. The amount of time gone has no impact.

The third image shows where I left again to town and returned, with the quest showing incomplete once more. If I stand around for a short while, it will "complete" again.

Hi players, I'm back from my break and getting behind the code right now. First, thanks for all the feedback and for your patience!

I see many of you aren't using Chrome to play Fedualife. Choosing a browser is a very personal thing so of course I won't force you to change it for good, but as you know by now, Feudalife only works as intended on Chrome and we always expect issues when using other browsers, though it's not always the case. You may want to try Chrome and see if the same issues appear again,

Also about browser plugins- what I believe could cause the most issues are plugins that impact JavaScript and data compression. That's because the game runs on JS, and relies on strings to save and load data from our server. If a plugin is trying to compress data, strings will be messed up and so your save, consequently.

I'm going to do my best to track down these issues anyways. Expect more regular updates from this week. : )

EDIT: you may want to take a look at the most recent update... ; )

My house is now transparent and cannot be interacted with after dragging and dropping an alchemy table from my backpack into the interior of my house. I can't get back in to fix it.

It's certainly very unnerving the way that all online players appear to use the same home map; I for one would never expect players to be allowed inside of my home.

As it stands, what is the intended progression from this point for those who have been able to purchase and construct everything available? Will the wildlands become more dangerous the further from home one ventures? I noticed that online players are also visible in the wildlands - is it possible that in the future (perhaps beyond a certain distance from home?) it might be possible to attack (and loot) other players when encountering them in the wildlands?

So, specifically, Google Chrome is the only browser that will work? Chromium and its derivative works (of which Google Chrome is) are not going to cut it?

I've actually found that Opera (which uses Chromium) works just fine as well, so I suspect other flavors will also work. Try it and report findings!

Excited to see the online feature is up and going, great work. I got visited by another player! I feel so special. However, in the Farm Board, I didn't see any other players active. Perhaps this is because that player is in my farm?

A couple of small issues to fix (0.4.0.0):
  • ONLINE: I was playing in another player's map. I went north into town, and when I went south again, I was returned to my own farm. Is this intended? If not, I was a little confused. Also, after that, I tried to go back to that player's map, but the gear just spun and spun (in the Farm Board view). I could not return to their map.
  • COSTUME: when you are a man, wearing the green robe: facing south, if you swing a tool or sword, the first sprite in the animation is missing artwork (the top of your hood disappears).
  • COSTUME: when you are a woman, wearing the country gown: facing east or west, if you use the left-click action, you see a pink "sprite missing" image (with the question mark) during the animation.
  • TOOLTIP: while inside the house, there is no tooltip for the Farm Board (online player list) button in the UI, but it was still operational.
I was curious @danjel-ricci @ricirick--is there a roadmap for Feudalife?

@aquawardimagination Those sound all like bugs, other players should be able to see you only in your own farm, not in town or in the wildlands. The home map (do you mean the farm?) is very similar for each player, with some randomness on elements and terrain placement. The idea is to customize it however you want by growing specific crops, adding paths with the shovel, and other stuff we have in plan for later. If you saw a farm 100% identical to yours, that's definitely a bug and the game didn't load the other player's farm.

@hadji Google Chrome is the only one were Feudalife works as expected, and the one were we can actually reproduce the bugs you find eventually. Other browsers could work too, but each one behaves a bit differently and we can't guarantee Feudalife runs fine on those. Chrome derivatives should be the best of the bunch but we didn't verify it yet.

@justtoff Thanks for the report! Actually I'd like to make visiting players unable to move out of a farm unless going back to their farm first. About the roadmap, we have one but it's not a in a presentable state at the moment, and I doubt it will be soon. :p
I can say we have plans for random quests, a big explorable town, removing landmarks barriers so you can access dungeons inside (like that mysterious Graveyard...), more items to customize your farm... There's plenty of stuff we want to do and some of these assets are being worked on, but the team is small so we need time for each new feature.

EDIT: a new version is up!

It seems I can't sleep on a pallet, tent works fine, but pallet just gets highlighted but no prompt to sleep... Does it work differently than the tent?
