These movie and actor quizzes are too hard. Most of the hints were useless. What, I got to memorize everything about Robin Williams?

What was up with the hints that said "y"? Like hint 2 was "popeye y" hint 7 was "birdcage y" What did these "y"s suppose to mean?

Year.

Edit: worryingly waiting for a question about a movie's depicted year instead of release.

How am I suppose to know that y stands for year?!? What, the hint can't bother putting in the full word "year"?!?

It was hard for me at the begining, and dont memorize just write down the notes , and after every question ends just check them , write short possible answers otherwise you will get lost in them .
Since the hints were useless, especially understandably not having a clue that "y" stood for year, the only way I could have won is by memorizing everything on the wiki page. I mean otherwise the notes would be as long as the wiki page and I'd loose the quize question just spending the time reading through it.

If you literally copy paste Birdcage Y in search bar the first thing that will pop up will be imdb page with year of the movie
Results in order from searching "birdcage y"

Online Menu of Birdcage Restaurant, Allegany, New York

YOU MAN - BIRDCAGE - YouTube

Bird Cages for sale | eBay

Online Menu of Birdcage, Allegany, NY

The Birdcage - Wikipedia

And even if the imdb page was the first link, I'd still have no way to know that y meant year.
Of course I knew it was none of these other results considering the Robin Williams theme. But it was still a useless tip for me.
I thought y meant "why" and I had "Annie" in my notes for "popeye y", because Annie was the rights they were trying to buy but failed to get and settled on Popeye as a comic they did have rights for.

Google (or whatever else search enjine you use) is your friend
As long as you remember that it's actually not your friend and check what the found articles actually say, instead of trusting what it presents as "answers".
Examples off the top of my head: google once claimed that Asia is the continent with most countries; sometimes it lists wrong release dates for movies even though the article that data supposedly comes from has the correct date; when searching for moon in my city, it gave the time of the moonrise for "today" only it was from four days before.
